Ok, so I watched the show before I read the books. This is entirely out of character for me because I usually go the other route, assuming that the books would naturally be better than the television/movie adaption. And you know what? I forgot that I hadnt written anything out and simply assumed that my mental responses were a reality. I might be losing my mind in increments....
First off...
WHAT?!?! You stopped at Season one? Why - why would you do such a thing? Tabrett Bethell is sex. Really. For serious. She is so hot, I havent had a celeb crush this severe since errrr ever really. You missed Cara entirely *tear* oh how you have shot yourself in the foot on that one.
All because the show doesnt follow the books. Granted, I am really unimpressed by the books lol
I dont know a damn thing about Cara of the books yet. Two thirds into Stone of Tears and NUTHIN. *sigh* If the show followed the books, we would have ended the series with Cara showing up way at the end. Nothing more than a guest appearence lol
If I can suck it up and read these 'books' (hehehe) then surely you can suck it up and watch the second season? What kind of sado-masochist are you if you can't do such a thing?
Cara would shake her head in dismay.
I gotta finish Stone of Tears and then I'll post a review of it in comparison to the second season. The show is totally full of crack but its a lot of fun if you dont take it too seriously ;)

And you know what! I kind of stopped because my life is reeeeaaaally really busy lol. I've started watching the second season slowly, but hey I'm a single mom, work 40+ hours a week, AND I still go to Vet school. So don't rag on me too much. I started watching it and then my ex was all like "Lets watch it together!" Then we got into a huuuuuge fight about the kids and she wanted to take her baby and... let's not get into it. Long story short, I associated the show with her and I was like "Bitch plz, I'm not watchin that if your still watching it" (I'm not bitter) And I was also NOT pleased with Denna. I had a bitch fit when they got to her part and I was like "....WHAT?! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO HER CHARACTER?! THATS CHARACTER RAPE!!"
And thus my opinion on the show went down. And they also just did the one dimensional "Lets hang people by chains and stab them with an agiel" bit. The torture in the books was MUCH more colorful.
This community online has peaked my interest back in the show. Especially when I saw the screen caps from the Sister Nicci stuff. I hated that part in the books, but I loved the action that Sister Nicci did to Kahlan, and leaving Kahlan and Cara alone for a year... which was what helped me come up with the Fanfic for "Confessions". Kahlan gets MUCH tastier later in the books, but I had the books on tape, which helped me cheat through all the boring parts.
I do agree with you about the Cara making a guest appearance, because the books really are lengthy... I'm glad I had them on tape or else I would have gotten bored haha. I will take up your challenge on watching the rest of the show if you finish the books. And besides, I am a sado-masochist. Makes life more interesting. I love torturing myself, that's why I'm going in next week for a 8 hour tattooing session on such an excrutiatingly painful part of my body, the ankle and top of the foot. The calf and stuff I'm not so worried about because that's mostly flesh. The boney part... Mmm that's gonna hurt.
And I think I'm just going to not take the show too seriously, I just have to find time to watch it lol
