Last night (at Irving Plaza), I saw Ministry live, for the first time - something long overdue for me.
Sadly this would also be the last time, as this tour is their farewell tour.
Setlist was pretty good; it encompassed pretty much every album of theirs that I listened to often (although, with it being a farewell tour, I imagined they would've done at least 1 song from every album - would have liked to hear some songs from Filth Pig and Animositinsomnia, too), as well as a couple of covers at the end of the show that were enjoyable.
My only real complaint: no performance of "Stigmata". And, to a slightly lesser extent, "Burning Inside". (I guess maybe I should've been there on Thursday night, or perhaps any other time over the past decade when I could've seen 'em.) :(
Two bands opened up for them: Hemlock and Meshuggah. Hemlock was...alright, I guess. Good warm-up band. Meshuggah was pretty damn good. I've heard of them before, but never actually heard any of their songs. I'm now motivated to look into their material at some point, and definitely wouldn't mind seeing them live again.
