USS Vilmaris RPG - The newly established couple gets more acquainted with one another and their new home.
After boarding the Vilmaris for the first time, Jordyn was quick to inspect her department upon arrival. She did not even bother to visit her new quarters before going directly to the main treatment pods and her office to get a feel for the new environment.
She was extremely pleased with the amount of space she now had. It was nearly ten times larger, or more, than what she had available to her on the Viper. The doctor had a whole separate are for processing labs and surgical stations in addition to more treatment areas for minor cases.
Having spent a good number of hours checking things out, she left orders for Aiden to begin inventory checks when he boarded and left to find her quarters.
Colt walked the corridors in a daze. He couldn't believe his luck. He'd spent the last year on the Viper, she was his first command, she was special to him, but the , she was a whole other ball game. He'd spent hours on the Bridge, studying the various systems, getting a feel for his new ship, and she continued to impress him.
The possibilities for the ship were endless, due to the modular design of the vessel. Colt expected that the Vilmaris would be the most important ship in the region for quite some time. He was excited, but he also felt the pressure. Heading for his quarters, he bumped straight into the person he so wanted to see.
Jordyn looked up when she ran into a brick wall of a person. "Oh! Hey! I was just searching for my quarters," she said before glancing around to see if there was anyone around. Finding no one, she leaned up and kissed him quickly on his cheek.
"Me too, this ship is like a maze," he grinned, returning her kiss with one of his own, "I wish Red would've given us some more time to prepare. At least given the command staff a copy of the blueprints."
"Doesn't it make it more of an adventure to discover things on your own?" she smiled. "I been looking for my quarters and they aren't quite as close to the medical areas as they were on the Viper."
"No, that's because you have a larger medical staff plus 2 isolated Emergency Medical Holograms at your disposal," he explained, "Not to mention the rapid transit functions on the turbolifts."
She shrugged and went to start heading down the one corridor. "Have you found your quarters yet?"
"I think they're down this way," he said as he followed. "Computer, show us to the Commanding Officer's Quarters."
Suddenly, the computer displays along the walls were repaced by blinking dots, all of which pointed toward the direction they were heading.
"Bet you never thought of that, did you?" Colt asked with a grin.
Jordyn made a face. "Too easy. Less fun," she pointed out.
"I assume you want to find your quarters at some point today?" Colt asked, as they walked side by side toward his destination. It wasn't long before they arrived in front of the first set of two doors that led into Colt's quarters. "Here's my stop."
"Maybe I should just stay here then?" she asked with an innocent and demure smile as she looked up at him.
He tapped several controls on the keypad before smiling back at her. "Enter your security code."
She held back her grin and went to put her numbers into the panel with as straight of a face as possible. "I would do the same for you, however you already have the clearance to enter on your own."
"Look, same arrangement as before... think of this as your second home," he said with a more serious tone as the doors slid open, "But when we both want space, we'll have it. You can keep your quarters, I'll be here. Agreed?"
"Sounds good," Jordyn said with a certain and familiar look in her eyes as she took a handful of the front of his uniform before pulling him inside.
Colt barely got the chance to look at his new spacious home as Jordyn's lips locked with his. Returning her kiss with the same enthusiasm, he guided them further into the quarters.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and grinned at him as she led them back further to where she assumed was the bedroom wordlessly. At almost every other step she took, she would drop a kiss randomly over Colt's lips, jaw, neck...wherever she could find exposed skin.
"I thought you said that you wanted to find your own quarters," he whispered between kisses. He didn't want their rendezvous to end, but they were both technically on duty, and there was a lot of work to be done before they were due to leave for Dorasia.
"I'll find them later but I need you more right now," she panted as she tore her tunic jacket off before pulling him closer to her.
"Computer, activate the Do Not Disturb protocols for myself and Doctor Chase," he said with a low growl as he fought to remove his own uniform.
As he adjusted the collar of the new uniform he found hanging in his closet, he stopped to admire himself in the full length mirror. Gone was the grey shouldered uniform jacket with the department coloured undershirt. In its place was a high collared jumpsuit depicting the department colour across the shoulder in much the same way as the grey shouldered jacket of his old uniform. Like before, his combadge rested on the left side of his chest, while his rank insignia had moved from his collar to a patch on the right hand side of his chest.
"Comfortable, functional, I like it," he whispered to himself before stealing a glance at Jordyn, who was wrapped in a bedsheet sleeping soundly. "What did I do to deserve you, huh?"
When Jordyn woke up, she stretched in the bed and looked around without sitting up. She found Colt sitting at his desk across the room and smiled. "Hey," she said sleepily.
"Hey," he smiled, his eyes drinking in the vision before them, "Coffee?"
"Sounds good," she yawned sitting up and wrapping the sheet around herself. "What time is it?"
"19:00 hours," he replied as he poured her a fresh cup of one of his favourite blends. Carefully handing her the cup he returned to the small stack of PADDs he was reading.
She took a sip and made a face as there was no milk or sugar in it but said nothing. "Thanks," she said. "I was out for awhile then. Do you know how things are going? Has Aiden tried to contact me at all?"
"Not since I deactivated the privacy mode," the Captain replied before nodding to the neatly folded sciences division uniform, labcoat and combadge. "I took the liberty of finding your quarters. I brought you your new combadge and uniform."
Scooting off the bed, she made her way over to the chair to collect the clothes. "Thanks. If he didn't call for me then I am sure he is already working on the things I left for him. I think it will actually be much easier to get the department ready than last time regardless of the larger size," she replied as she dropped the sheet and headed into the bathroom for a quick shower.
Colt returned his attention to the Vilmaris' performance reports. Aside from a few minor bugs with several low priority systems, the Insignia-class ship was at peak efficiency, which was great.
Jordyn came out of the bathroom several minutes later dressed. "I don't know about these uniforms," she commented. "Did you bring me any regular clothes?"
"Your belongings are still in cargo containers, I didn't wanna invade your privacy. I knew where to find the uniform because they've been issued to everyone on the crew," he explained before grinning sexily. "And it looks good on you, I'd be interested to you you in the skirt variant."
"I am sure but I have nothing of value in most containers. Those that do have security codes needed," she pointed out as she did a small modelling pose for him.
"Still, I don't feel right about going through your belongings without your permission, call me crazy," he said as he admired the view. "So what do you have planned now?"
"Technically I am off shift now. I was done at 1800, so if you have something planned I can go if you need to be alone," she said as she made her way over to sit on his lap.
"Well I figured we could take a walk around the ship, get to know her a little better? Or maybe take one last look around the Viper before we leave?" he suggested, pulling Jordyn into his lap and kissing her neck.
She hummed at the suggestions. "I'm okay to pass on Viper but if you wish to go... Touring the ship though sounds good if we can just swing past my quarters for regular clothes."
"I'll go see the Viper on my own," he said with an understanding smile. The Defiant-class ship meant more to him than it did to her. To him, the Viper was his first command and his home for a year, to chase, it was the ship that lacked the resources she needed to do what she set out to do as a Doctor. "Lets go to your quarters and find you something more comfortable to wear. We could visit a holodeck on our tour?"
"Oooh that will be great! It will be great for us," she winked.
"You get to choose the program this time," he smiled, "We can go see Vic or do something else?"
She raised an eyebrow. "Any holodeck program off the outpost is welcoming. Come on," she added, moving to stand.
20 minutes later, Colt and Jordyn stood outside Holodeck 1. "PLEASE SELECT PROGRAM," the computer interface stated softly. Colt looked to his girlfriend and waited for her choice to be loaded into the system.
"Umm...Chase program Alpha 2-8-1," she said calling up her 20th century faire program.
"PROGRAM LOADED, YOU MAY ENTER WHEN READY," the computer quickly replied before the doors slid open to reveal the bright multi-coloured backdrop of a carnival.
"Well this is... new," Colt smiled as he took in the sights and sounds. "I never pegged you as someone who'd enjoy a place like this."
Jordyn grinned. "There is a lot that you still do not know about me. Its lively and fun. And, from what I've read about these carnivals, is that they were a popular dating experience in its time."
"So I hear, the fried foods, men used to test their prowess in various ways, tests of strength, skill, accuracy, all to win their dates prizes," he replied, remembering what he learned in school, "Of course, back in the 20th century, the people that ran these places would sooner trick you out of your money than hand over a prize."
She made a face at him before stopping at a balloon dart game. "Then trick the stand operator back and win me...that bear up there," she challenged.
"Darts?" Now you're talking," he grinned confidently as they made their way over to the game stand.
"Step right up, step right up, pop three balloons and win a small stuffed animal. Pop 6 and you win one of my fabulous bears!" the operator announced as they approached, a welcoming grin on his face. "You sir look like a man with a keen eye and sharp reflexes, why not try your hand at winning a stuffed animal for the lovely lady."
She grinned and nudged him forward. "I want the panda bear," she said and waggled her eyebrows. "I will name him Rodney."
Smiling at Jordyn for a moment, Colt nodded and snatched up half a dozen darts. Without skipping a beat, he threw all 6, one after another after another at 6 of the randomly strung up balloons.
"Five out of six," she announced and accepted a small purple giraffe from the stand keeper. "I thought this was no problem for you dear..."
"Give me another 6 darts!" he said to the Operator while staring into the teasing eyes of his girlfriend. This time, without even looking at the balloons, he threw the darts and one by one 6 balloons popped, each bang making his grin grow wider.
She stared back with a huge grin herself. "See, now you're just showing off," she replied but happily accepted the large panda bear she wanted before passing him the purple giraffe. "You can keep this one and name it Carson."
"Why Carson?" he asked as they headed further into the fair, passing several over stalls as they did so.
Shrugging Jordyn just smiled. "No reason. Random selection," she answered. "Unless you have a better name?"
"No, Carson's fine," he smiled as he examined the stuffed toy. It wasn't exactly what he was expecting when thinking about gifts shared between the two of them, but he wasn't complaining because he knew he'd always think of her when looking at it.
"Okay, so what would you like to do? There are games, rides, food..." she said looking around them. "I could have sworn there were information booths in this program that could give maps for the fair's layout."
"I seem to remember someone making a face when I asked the computer for directions to my quarters earlier. And now she wants a map?" he grinned, "Where's your sense of adventure, Jor?"
Rolling her eyes, she tugged him along with her. "I seemed to have left it at the doors. Come on, I want the funnel cake!"
Grinning triumphantly, Colt followed her to one of the food stalls. "Cakes, dohnuts, cotton candy, popcorn, hotdogs, burgers... It's so hard to believe that people used to live on this stuff."
"Don't knock it til you try it," she replied. "Sure its unhealthy but a treat once in awhile won't kill you. Have you ever had an old fashioned hamburger and french fries?"
"As a kid, yeah... but since I joined Starfleet... let's say my tastes have changed," he smiled. "But you're right I guess... once in a while won't hurt."
She pulled him along until they found one of the stands that offered the cakes she wanted. Placing her order - and eternally grateful for the replicating features of holodecks, she looked up at Colt to see what he wanted.
"I'll have what she's having," he smiling, bowing to the more experienced faire-goer's guidance. "So after we've eaten, what do we do? Play more games?"
"Definitely. These rides are not good if you just ate. I remember the first time I did that, I was vomiting everything back up," she replied as she took the cakes and a large souvenir cup soda to share.
"Well, we could go on one of the gentler rides, like the ferris wheel, or the swan peddle boats?" he mused as he picked at the cake.
Jordyn nodded as she pulled a large piece of the powdered cake off to eat. "Sounds like a plan. What do you think?" she asked as she ate hers happily.
"Well, We should go on the wheel while we eat," Colt suggested, "That way we can take in the sights, enjoy our food and enjoy each others company without peddling till our knees swell up."
"Okay," she said turning towards the path for the ferris wheel. They arrived with little fuss and after a quick computer override command for the ride attendant to let them on with their food, the two settled down in their seat as the bar was secured over their lap.
"So is this program from your childhood?" Colt asked, curious as to why Jordyn would like a place like this. The wheel began to move slowly, their seat swinging slightly as it did so.
She nodded. "Yep. Like it?"
"It's great," Colt replied, "I should load up the Casperia Prime water park program I have on file some time... water slides of all shapes and sizes. I think you'd love it."
"Sounds interesting. Are there any rides here that you are interested in riding later?" As Jordyn spoke, she also broke off a piece of her funnel cake and held it up to his mouth as he hadn't touched his own much.
Taking the cake into his mouth, he smiled and chewed happily. "We should try the roller-coaster, and maybe the ghost train."
She raised a single eyebrow that would impress a Vulcan. "Adrenaline junkie?" she asked teasingly.
"Not a junkie, but I like to be kept on my toes," he grinned, "keeps me sharp."
"Mmhmm," she nodded. "We can go on those rides," she replied as she settled into the seat more and leaned against Colt with her head on his shoulder.
Smiling and gently squeezing Jordyn's hand which was wrapped in his own, Colt sighed contently. "This is nice... it's nice to slow down, take a step back and share something like this with someone you love."
"Yes," she agreed. "We will have to make sure that we make the time in our schedules for things like this. Otherwise we will end up like starfleet couple that eventually becomes a situation of convenience rather than emotional development and dedication."
"I trust Sovak to take care of the Vilmaris at least one night a week," Colt grinned. "And you have not one, but two EMH's at your disposal, not to mention a full staff, so you get a night off too... no excuses."
Jordyn sighed and rolled her eyes dramatically. "If I must," she replied like nothing else was more important than work and then smiled up at him cheekily.
"That's settled then," Colt whispered into her ear before planting a lingering kiss on her cheek. "Because I really didn't want to make that one an order."
"Hmm thats odd because it wasn't long ago that I said the same of you," she said looking at him. "I just have a question..." She added while fluttering her eyes and a sweet smile.
"I know I'm possibly inviting trouble here," he teased, "but go on."
She looked at him for a moment and bit her lip. "Do you think it might be wise to consider leaving a bag with spare clothes at each other's quarters so that we don't set off alarms if we replicate new uniforms if we forget to plan ahead? That is if we do end up spending the night..."
"Good idea, I'll throw some stuff together when I'm finally unpacked," Colt grinned before taking her hand and squeezing it gently.
Jordyn let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, afraid that her question might be considered moving too fast. "Okay," she said softly and shifted closer for the rest of the ride.
Taking note of her reaction to his response, Colt smiled softly. "Fast or slow, I'm in this for the long haul Jor. We both know that we'll be spending nights in each others quarters, and even if we wanted to fight it, we both know we can't."
"Hmm," she smiled. "I am glad you said that because I don't think I want to sleep alone tonight."
"So the question is, your place or mine?" Colt asked with a wink.
