Culture Shock

Sep 06, 2012 14:13

Its been a week. A rather busy week (when I checked my hotmail. it was bombed with more than 100 emails OTL). in two week time will be exam and all the submission.

In panic mode as usual I can’t stand the idea of exam. T.T its not helping when so many project are coming up. Well I just have to put in more effort right?

Back to what happen for the past week. I got to hang out with my team mates more for "FYP" (Why I "" the FYP is because they don't call it FYP in school but still I have habit of calling it FYP) . We got all our artist down only to find out we don't have the venue we wanted. that mean more work again.
My Team is rather unique as it consists of international students except me. I got to learn a lot from them how they work what kind of back ground they came from. For example, just yesterday was one of our classmate birthday. She happens to be from china.

During lunch the she wanted to treat us and was rather persistent about it. That’s when I learnt that their culture is to treat whoever goes out with them during their birthday rather than excepting gifts. Also that guys in china whenever they take their girlfriends out they have pay for everything ( I’m not sure if this is true though but that what they say).

Rather Interesting isn't? I guess that why there is a saying that a person is learning everyday. Even when they are just walking they learn new things.

Last Friday and Saturday was night festival and yes I was helping them out. Was at the nightlights for the first day and day two helping out with a mask making workshop and ended up like twilight Edward sparkling with glitters. For those that didn’t realise night festival font is twilight font XOXO

Here's is my fave shot for of the event :D

I'm so in love with the lights 0.0 how the music blend with the video. How the video blend with the building its just insane. XOXO

During night festival I also hooked up with some old friend from SPLA. He was talking about Japanese band in Singapore and where to gain exposure. That when I start going on the stalking the local scene again LOL.

I realise there were a lot of band in Singapore actually sourcing for platforms especially for those are incline to more Japanese and Korean. For singers I guess there is still platform for every event there is a stage for them to sing and compete but band is harder due to the rental of equipment and set up requires more work. Wish there was some events catered for them. Like last time there were STAC miyuki red white song battle for singers.

I kind of missed the event because not only singers get exposure new bonds are made. Even after the event, I find myself listening to their voices singing a particular song rather than the actual singers voice.( the wonder of live performance). Such as Vania singing rakuen, Tashigi Jie’s singing shell, Lili Jie’s kouya ruten, Rika powerful cruel angel thesis.  It’s amazing how their voice still rings in my head after so long. Sometimes I wish to hear them sing those songs again *.*

It was also a eye opening experience to a super young noob newbie like me ( last time of cox) I learn the style of singing, vocal training. My favourite part of the experience was how people improved from last time to now it’s just amazing.

I realise I always prefer the process/making of something more than the outcome as in the process you get to see how things build up or improves while the outcome symbolise the ending. (Obviously I don't like endings)

I guess i will end this post with the nostalgic feel XP. Though I intend to type about cosfest actually.. May be another day LOL ß Laziness
