[ Action-- 461 Stone Street ]

[ Today has been a very, very odd day. After yet another peaceful day of school and inn-work back in Inaba, life had taken a turn for the saccharine with her new awakening in some very vintage flannel pyjamas down on Stone Street. The initial squawks of surprise and reaching for her fan occur, but to no avail- there ( Read more... )

The term "spirited away" would be more appropriate, young lady.

I suppose it would, wouldn't it? I don't see any other way I could have been flown all the way from Japan without noticing.

No. Not by modern technology. The very force that brought us here should be technologically impossible by our world's standards.

... And we may be from the same world. I've heard of Inaba.

Ah...really? Maybe you've stayed at our inn?

A teacher's salary could barely get me halfway to Inaba let alone a night at the Amagi Inn. But my wife might have gone once.

I see...so it's just by reputation. [ She exhales, quietly. ] That's heartening.

[An odd response. Kashihara's eyes narrow a little. She seemed almost relieved that he hasn't been there.]

Did you just recommend me against staying?

Huh? Oh, no! I-I mean, it's just...at least I know there's someone from the same world, even if not the same town. You'd still have a lovely time at the Amagi Inn!

Ah, was that it? Yes, I agree wholeheartedly on both counts. You're the first person from my world that I've heard from up until now.

Hm. My name is Akinari Kashihara, a world history teacher at Seven Sisters High School in Sumaru City. It's quite far from Inaba.

Sumaru...the name does sound a little familiar. It's very nice to meet you, Kashihara-san.

Likewise. There's no importance in asking beyond satisfying my curiosities, but I've never been disloyal to them.

What year was it in our world since you've been taken away by Mayfield?

It was early in 2012...isn't that what it would be for everyone?

Time truly has no meaning in Mayfield. Our world's present and past mean all the same in this world. I'm from 1999.

Wh-- but isn't that impossible?

Hm. The laws of this universe don't apply in ours, so what would be impossible in our world is not here. For example, dying. I heard that it's... Well, it isn't impossible to die, but the world simply sees fit to pull you right back.

Did you know that?

Someone had mentioned it, but-- [ Well. Samarecarm, she'd done it with her own two sun-goddess empowered hands. ] Just not being able to seems like impossible magic.
