Reflections on BBS
Roughs of Beat Back Season are finally finished. All that's left is doing the final inking, scanning, and rounding up some people to do extra stuff in between.
It's almost done.
Four years. On one hand, it was far too long for what a four-part 100 page fancomic should have taken. On the other hand, I wouldn't change it for anything.
Four years ago, I was confused at Ichigo in the first two issues and at Rukia in the last two.
Four years later, I began to understand Rukia.
I was constantly caught between the two while I was writing. Rukia, because she's a woman, but is a mature woman who has prejudices stemming from an abundance of life experience. Ichigo, who's young, inexperienced in life and love and believes things will work out if he thinks it should, but is a man.
And soon, it'll all be over.
I've met good friends because of my doujin and fanart, both on the internet and in real life (and crossing over in a few cases :D). The Bleach fandom has been with me since I started college, graduated and got my first job.
After this doujin, I'll be off to do my own series.
It's rather bittersweet. But, I believe it's for the best :3
... BTW, IchiRuki is my OTP FOREVER. No one can convince me otherwise D:
