Comments on Avatar: The Last Airbender - Book III 4-5
Just some thoughts as I watch where I left off from Avatar. Nothing ground-breaking if you've already watched the whole series, other than fanartist's comments on society and storytelling methods.
Episode 4: Sokka's Master

It's true. Little sisters know what their big brothers like very, VERY well: Big, shiny, sharp objects (SHOPPING!! :D :D :D).
YEAY FIGHT SEQUENCES!!
End Thoughts: This was basically a big OH SOKKA ILU episode for me. SOKKA ILU >3<
Episode 5: The Beach
Watching Zuko and Mai is so.... awkward =_=; Iunno what kind of reaction I'm supposed to have when I see these two interact.
Azula is AWESOME :D :D :D Except when she decides to make a sudden departure from her character .__.; And there is much kissing. Do kids kiss these days go around sucking faces of random strangers that much?

Oh, it's a group therapy session :/
Here's my version of the ending of the episode. Doing this from memory since I don't think I can sit through it again =_=
Zuko: I'M TYLEE!
Tylee: I WILL TALK ABOUT MY LACK OF IDENTITY AT HOME AND MAKE FANARTIST WANT TO HUG ME

Zuko: MY GIRLFRIEND DOESN'T TALK ABOUT HER FEELINGS
Mai: MY MOTHER ATE IT
Dr. Azula: I WILL NOW DIAGNOSE YOU LIKE DR. PHIL BUT MORE SEXY-LIKE.
Mai: I HATE YOU
Zuko: I LOVE YOU
Mai: RAEG!!
Zuko: I'M SO ANGRY! I'M SO CONFUSED! NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ME D:<
Mai: LET'S KISS
Zuko: OTAY :D
Tylee: I LOVE THIS ROCK
Azula: I'M A MONSTER. LET'S GO SABOTAGE SOMETHING.
Everyone: YAY!
End thoughts: I wish these character points didn't have to be made through a counseling session, though it was prolly a choice made in interest of fitting the time slot. IMHO, the conflicts in the group could have been peppered throughout the day and that reminiscing and self-reflection could've taken place on an individual level.
TLDR: Too much telling. Not enough showing.
I'd add episode 6 if this streaming thing worked properly :< (And yes, I will support the series by buying the DVDs. It's just that the collector's version of Season 2 and 3 hasn't come our yet :<)
