Author's Notes: Here's my first upload. I'm not finished with this; it's obviously still just a sketch, but I'm taking a break from it for a little while and thought I'd share. :)

Author's Notes: As I was scanning through a bazillion GOOGLE images related to Cyrano de Bergerac, I saw a painting of Cyrano with a bird perched on his nose, a reference to the little verbal thrashing Cyrano gave at the theatre in the opening of the play. Thought it was very cute, and so drew one of my own in an homage to both the clever person who came up with the idea for the art, and to the clever author who mentions using Cyrano's nose as a bird perch. Cheers. (And yes, I realize that the collar is not strictly accurate according to the period... but Cyrano demanded that he wear it, nonetheless.)

Author's Notes:Cyrano was rejected by his mother, he mentions offhandedly at one point. I believe he said something along the lines of "I wouldn't have known womanly affection if not for you, Roxanne... my mother didn't want to see me", or "was repulsed", or something like.
Poor Cyrano.
(Again, I know the clothes are wrong-- I just couldn't bring myself to draw those horibble stiff neck ruffle things of the early 1600's. I couldn't do it. This is more 1640's, I think, though I kept thinking of Professor McG. from the HP books when I drew Cyrano's Mama's collar-stuffs.)
