Aethear References! Woo!

Apr 22, 2005 22:02

Remember, these descriptions are just things I consider in the way I draw my draconic form. You're welcome to as much artistic license as you feel comfortable with. I look forward to seeing your interpretation of Aethear Lloreleian Edarvaeri - and remember, in Soviet Russia, Aethear looks forward to you! Heh heh, aight, I'll get to it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/aquilynytewulf/Moonswept.jpg <~~ (unfinished, but you get the point. It's a good attitude, and my face is better on this one. My mate Malfaxx is on the left.)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/aquilynytewulf/TheVisitation.jpg <~~ (face is kinda goofy in this one, but the body is excellent. I left off the wings so you could see it. Courtship frill's
also good.)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/aquilynytewulf/StoneColdFireStomp.jpg <~~ (first full one I drew of myself. The face and head changed, but here you get a good view of the eagle wings. The body's also still the same, only scaled. ... I just realized a mistake, though: the elbow spikes are supposed to be upward. >_< oops)

Okay, description time! Woo!

My head is much like that of a raptor's, only on the fleshy side to accomodate expression. I've got an angular jaw, with blunt hornlets at the three angles. My eight auxiliary horns are in two layers, with the longer ones behind the shorter ones. My two primary horns are about the same size as the larger auxiliary ones, only a bit more hooked and darkly tipped. I've also got a brief ridge of three shorter horns between my eyes. I've got rather KISS-inspired, black eye tattoos. My irises are a mottled silver and amethyst. I've usually got a very easy-going, often coy expression, even (and especially) when luring prey. Joy comes with music, good food, beauty, gifts or shinies - my favorite things.

My courtship frill is something like ears on a horse or cat, used for expressiveness. When I'm extremely angered, dangerously threatened, or amorous, it is fully erect; it is lower in relation to how agitated or unhappy I am, and is my greatest means of physical communication.

I've got a very narrow greyhoundish body. I stand about 8 feet tall at the shoulders. My tail is prehensile and is often seen wrapping and unwrapping around my leg - call it a weird mannerism. There is also a long, graceful tuft of downy feathers at the end. My legs are very birdlike, with larger plate scales running down them. I've got a small thumb and two larger bird toes, on which I lightly balance. This gives me a very prancing, happy-horse-like style of movement.

I've got immense, powerful eagle wings, which I spray with a light layer of frost to reflect light during courtship, or with a film of oil for waterproofing.

My face is largely smooth. I've got larger plate scales on my underside. Most of my body is covered in very fine, smooth, snakelike scales. My mother was a silver dragon from this plane, and my father was a shadow dragon. This makes me silver, with varying shades of purple tinting the edges of my scales. My feathers are dominated by purple. All of my "points" are more intensely purple. The plate scales on my legs and underside are more intensely silver.

Mannerisms:

I am a Llorelei of dragons, and lure my prey with song, dance, or with my beauty. I only eat animals that I feel I can emulate - for example, birds for their song, bears for their dedication and love, certain fish for their grace. I protect animals that are kind and practical to nature, as long as I don't admire them too much ;). I loathe humans that I feel serve no purpose to the arts, for as a species they have no hope of redemption. The animals I eat eventually make their way into talismans, which make up the bulk of my horde. I often tie smaller talismans into the lower feathers of my frill, or around my auxiliary horns. I favor a bracelet of silver bells that a human brought me once, but only wear it when the mood moves me. I love jewelry and white metals, like silver.

Being a frost dragon, I live in southern Alaska near the mouth of a river. I love waterside rocks and swimming in calm water. Half shadow dragon, I love the night. I don't fly often, but if the moon is bright enough I do fly over the water to see my own reflection silhouetted on its surface.

My breath weapon is liquid oxygen, which I can spray on my wings for a layer of frost, or in globs to freeze the feet of prey that want to get away.

My mate is Malfaxx, a smooth-skinned, chameleonic dragon from the American Midwest. He's not usually as happy as he's drawn, having kind of a "screw you" mentality; he's just a lot more fun to draw happy. Should you include him in a drawing, beware of his extra legs.

http://www.cyaneus.com/art/graphic_malfaxx.GIF <~~ (by Cyaneus. His face according to his own drawings is different, but the movement's good and it's generally a *very* good second style to look at.)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/aquilynytewulf/MalfaxxProfile.jpg <~~ (mine. There are a few accuracy errors - such as an omission of the ridge of plates over his eyes and the two spurs on his chin. But it's my style of profile, so eat it.)
