Decisions...

ok, I've got a tid bit of a problem and I was wondering if any of you could help with this.

I'm enrolled in a CNA training program (MEDS) that starts Oct. 9th. It's 6 weeks and by the end of it I'll be a certified nurses aid. The whole thing only costs $700 and that includes books, fees and the like... The downside is the fact that since I got enrolled in this program I haven't been able to find a job ANYWHERE that will hire me on until I'm actually certified.

EXCEPT- Clinton County Rehab.... Its a rehabilitation clinic up in clinton county, which is about 20 miles from where I live.

NOW, heres the tricky part:
pros- CCR will pay for your schooling; you can work for them at the same time you're going to school that way you can get paid; plus the people seem really nice

cons- the school that they would pay for is in a town thats 45 miles from where I live; theres always the chance that if I do decide to work for them whilst they're paying for my schooling that I'd have to sign a contract, which could be as long as a year OR more, meaning I'd be stuck there until that time is up; the pay is only $8.00/hr, but they have this weird pay thing that if you show up for every day you're scheduled during the pay period you essentially make $9.00/hr but if you miss a day it goes back down to $8.00/hr; they have no shift differential (at most nursing homes they'll pay you extra if you work the night shift and that's what I'd be working 10-6)

MEDS: Granted yes, I'd have to pay the $700 to go to school there and its a pretty intense program but no more so than the one CCR is offering.

Its a shorter drive there (30 vs 45) and you can do your 100 clinical hours at the two nursing homes that are right next to it.

The jobs at those two places aren't permanent and I still have to get ahold of the woman to see if you get paid for the clinical hours or not.... knowing my luck you don't....

BUT-I wouldn't get roped into a contract and I'd be able to go to the local hospitals afterwards and try to get on there.

I mean theres the downside that I'd have to find a side job to keep money coming in but it'd be worth it in the long run whenever I get to choose the place I get hired on at after I finish my training rather than being stuck somewhere I don't want to be for a certain amount of time, all because I wanted to get my schooling paid for.

*FLAILS* NOW I have another place calling me.... Interview there tomorrow at 10 am so.....
