My thoughts on Doctor Who 5x09 -- Cold Blood
OH GOD RORY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. MOFF WERE YOU NOT PAYING ATTENTION WHEN I SAID "NOT ONE HAIR ON HIS PRECIOUS HEAD?". YOU GET BACK HERE AND FIX THIS RIGHT NOW, MISTER.
::THROWS GIANT TANTRUM::
Okay, okay, okay. ::attempts to take deep breath through runny snot clogged nose::
So, really what this boils down to right now is...do I trust Moffat enough to let him hurt me like this? (BASTARD). And, well, based on the entire rest of the season he has earned that trust from me at this time, since every time I have reflexively flinched, he's managed to go somewhere with the story or characterization that pleased me. And pointless death/angst/woe is not really his thing. There's too much here that makes me think this is part of a larger puzzle.
I can think of several ways to resolve this that I would find acceptable, though some I prefer more than others. My favorite relies on the fact that Rory didn't just die, he was unmade...with heavy emphasis on the way Amy forgot. So, if he can be unmade, he can be REMADE and we can get Rory back. I WANT THIS ONE. I would, though it would involve more runny snotty tears, also accept Amy remembering Rory being vital to the big series arc solution.
But OMG RORY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. ::breaks down in sobbing tantrum again::
also, the rest of the episode was amazing and I loved it and I love Amy and I love Eleven.
RORY :( :( :( :(
