They look like big, good, strong hands, don't they? I always thought that's what they were...

First off, after having watched the whole of season 2 of Boomtown (all six episodes, yessir), it's official, it sucks. I don't know what happened, maybe the network was putting the pressure on them because they didn't have a good enough audience and so they had to make it less original, but hell. Suddenly it became... just like any other show. They ( Read more... )

That said, Joey has never seen The NeverEnding Story. Is it just me, or should no child be allowed to grow up without having seen the NeverEnding Story?

To me you rather have to *read* it. Seeing it is optional.
Actually, I don't have much memories left from the movie, whereas so many of the images generated by the book are still there.

Well, for those of us who haven't read it, trust me, the movie remains. I remembered it so well, compared to other films I loved when I was a kid, like the Goonies or Bugsy Malone, but those didn't stick half as well.

That said, earlier I was entertaining the idea of reading the book... it's German innit? I should actually try and read it in German... with a dictionary by my side. Joss help me.

Yeah, I can understand it remains. The Goonies remained more, for me. But then, I didn't read any Goonies book. ;-)
And some of the stuff I liked the best in the Neverending Story story didn't seem to have made it to the film.

Yeah, it's German. Good luck with reading it in VO. ;-)

Oh, and I remember being horrified by Atreyu's lack of greenness. ;-)

Huh. I'm not sure I would have crushed on him if he'd been green.

He is totally and definitely green. :-P
And *I* had a crush on the book-Atreju, not the movie-Atreju. ^_^

Did you know the actor played a character named "Harry Potter" in a movie called "Troll"? ;-)

Actually, seeing the movie again, much as I still adore the character of Atreyu, that kid could not act. It's quite sad. But when you're a kid you don't notice such stuff.

That's what I thought. Hmm. I should buy myself a German dictionary to start with.
