If you will practice being fictional for a while, you will understand that fictional characters are sometimes more real than people with bodies and heartbeats.

Lost
All I can say is WOW.
Actually I lied, I can say more... Emilie De Ravin! My favorite Aussie-Roswellian. And look, there she is pregnant with her unborn not-so-hybrid child of Max Evans. I guess this is where she was most of season 3.
If this pilot doesn't win the Emmy for best direction in an episode, then I will have LOST all faith in TPTB.
Jack and Bobby
The best new show of the season with the best actors. The pilot was breathtaking. Patrick Norris! I love you!! First Roswell, then DC now this. If I ever make a tv show, YOU ARE DIRECTING IT. He better stay on for the rest of the season and for the next and just forever.
Veronica Mars
I know most people wrote this show off simply because it's on UPN. It probably would have been more fitting on the WB, but no they had to pick up "The Mountain." Oh, BTW, good luck with that show WB. HAHAHA.
The ratings were less than stellar, but so was Buffy's. UPN has to put a lot of faith into this show. At least we know, as seen in the past that they give on the bubble shows a chance to find ground. It's not FOX. Damn those bastards at FOX! I want my WONDERFALLS.
*DVD box sets are TV Cancellation Bliss* And you best know the rest...
Gilmore Girls
What did they do to this show? Last season Rory was put on the back burner. What happened to Rory in college, umm she went to class, saw a naked guy and then went back home again and again. And college, oh yeah it's not much different from high school. It seemed toward the end of season 4, the producers were like, "oh no we forgot about her.... hmm what should we do to spice up her life... how about make her the new town slut?" I don't think they understand. They made Rory into this beautiful character and then they sent her tumbling down in the season finale. People make mistakes and Rory is human. But she's different and that is what the producers have always wanted her to be seen. At least they did one thing right: Luke & Lorelai. Finally! It was about time.
Joan of Arcadia
And you thought last year's season was emotionally draining...
Everyone is screwed! And we love it. Although Jane and Adam are everyone's favorite teen-romance, I think this episode beautifully illustrates that Joan's most dominant love interest in the series will be with the Almighty, Himself.
Don't worry Emmy, they'll be back for your next party and this time, they won't take second.
