Gilmore Girls finale.
Correct: So I told my friend Alex, that I thought the reason why Rory called was because she got caught and was arrested.
Correct: The couple in which the engagement would come about would be Lorelai and Luke.
Wrong: Rory was leaving Yale because she was pregnant. Rory is leaving Yale because Logan's dad told her she doesn't have what it takes to be a journalist.
Wrong: Luke proposed to Lorelai. Lorelai proposed to Luke.
The only surprising moment about the finale was when it was Lorelai, not Luke who proposed. I was so expecting for Luke to get down on one knee --but squee! I'm glad it was a Gilmore who proposed! Of course, Lorelai's emotions are running high and I can just see Luke's face going into a panic and going "What? Are you sure about this?" but we all know he sooo wants to marry Lorelai. And they really are perfect for each other. But darn the WB. I think they completely killed this surprise for the fans. If only they had simply showed us the part about Rory not going to Yale next year and completely left out the "Someone is going to propose" bit. Oh, I would be screaming with delight right now. But no. This was not as a shocking finale as last season's, and that finale lead to this amazing season... so I wonder what will happen next. The best moment was when (rough quote...) Luke said "What about the children?" Oh, he should have proposed right there and then. I actually thought Lorelai was going to take the job because of Rory, and then Luke would have proposed...
When Rory came to her grandparents house, I was sure she was going to go into this whole argument about why she shouldn't go to Yale next year. Then when she just started crying, I was confused. Why is she crying? Then, I thought --ok this is the part where she's going to tell us that she's pregnant. Right? Then when Lorelai came early for Friday night dinner, and her parents were there so I dunno... so sure that they were doing the right thing for Rory.... I was so sure they were going to say "Lorelai. There's something you need to know. Rory's pregnant." Especially when Emily said "She can't live with Logan" and I was like "Cause he's the father!" But noooo! The whole episode I kept waiting and waiting, and gosh darn, I'm still waiting! And it won't make any sense if she really is pregnant and they didn't tell us for an entire summer! I mean, hello? Only ABC execs would allow that!
Now my mind is wondering... what if she was? Only she had an abortion. Oh, I just wish there was something more to this than there is! I just don't understand why Rory would do this. It just doesn't make any sense. And why would her grandparents suddenly change their minds --I mean, it's YALE! Oh, I'm just so confused. This finale did not leave me satisfied at all. If only I knew there was something more that they weren't telling us!
Ughhh! Frustration. But let's not leave it on that note.
Mrs. Kim was awesome. It got me so excited for Lane. She's going on tour this summer! I better check ticketmaster.
