Title: Fields of Gold
Pairing: Nichkhun/Wooyoung
Rating: PG
Summary: Simply together, there was nothing more that Wooyoung wanted then the moment of adrenaline that came with running. With him. [Word Count: Approx. 400]
Song(s) used for inspiration: {Country Empire of the Sun}

The suns' glow splashed across the soft curves of Wooyoung's face like shattered light, giving his skin a warm tint while sending blinding strands running across held out hands reaching outwards for the sky. He could sense the heartbeat of the sun soaked ground through his closed eyes, smell the sharp yet soft tint of wheat in the air, and feel the ever so often breeze brush across his widespread arms. Wooyoung was lying on the dirt backed floor in the middle of a swaying sea of gold, watching the clouds drift lazily across the blue bleached sky.

It's like you.

As if there was a heart buried beneath the soft soil that thumped along the same beat, it combined with the tickling flames of wind brushing against Wooyoung's exposed arms. Brown eyes fluttered open once another rhythm joined the mix, a swirl of footsteps and light breaths to add to the parade. Then a sudden outburst of light, a smile spreading across dirt dusted cheeks for the final parting of Wooyoung and the ground, earth drifting lightly in the air at the sudden separation.

Are you ready?

With the connection of their hands, Wooyoung's eyes squinted to almost disappear among the familiar folds as he turned towards the glaring sun that had started to sink into the horizon already. It was like there was a thin shield of clay between their intertwined fingers, a gritty and soft feeling that the friends turned lovers had already long adjusted to. Nichkhun's grip tightened on the others hand, a soft smile splayed on his face before his lips parted in a hummed response.

Only if you are.

Wooyoung grinned cheekily, swinging their hands wildly through the air, across the rays of light until bursting out into a bout of light hearted laughter directed towards the floating clouds above. Nichkhun just smiled back before breaking out into a light laugh in return, warm brown eyes still focused on watching the orb of light start to reach the horizon. And once it seemed to touch the tip of the wheat field, it was like everything judging them had silenced with the rest of the world.

Gasping and frantically shoving past the walls of tall grown wheat with a grin planted on his face, Wooyoung could feel the sharp brush of stems scrape past his skin, the glare of the sun beating down on the nape of his neck, the warm dirt slipping away in small clouds beneath dangerously bare feet as they passed through field after field. And their hands, still stubbornly intertwined, the end of the dash nowhere to be seen. But Wooyoung couldn't remember a time when he felt more free then he did right now; away from society, away from life, but still in love.
