My external's comments on my thesis were excellent: thorough, insightful, thought-provoking---she put her finger on every aspect of the dissertation I'd already had my own questions about and replicated those questions with more depth and nuance. Fabulous. If I can manage to keep my cool during my defense, I might actually have a good time.
