Herbs and cycle length

Hi there,

I'm not TTC just yet, I guess you could say we're pre-TTC at the moment; which means I'm taking prenatals and trying to get myself as ready as I can be for pregnancy.

A little over a month ago I looked at my chart and realized that though my cycles were a good length (around 32 days), my luteal phase seemed kind of short; at an average of 10-12 days. I read that 14 days is optimal. So I started drinking a cup of RRL tea and taking an extra B6 supplement (100mg) every day, and into the tea I measured 15 drops each of dong quai, red clover and chaste tree. I started it just after my period was over in my last cycle.

I was pretty faithful in taking everything every day, and then was surprised by my period after only 21 CD. Admittedly, I didn't talk to an herbalist or a midwife or anyone about the herbs, so it may be that I overdid it. Or it may be that I just kind of shocked my system and if I continued the herbs things would improve. On the plus side, I didn't feel any cramps this time; usually I get mild cramps on the first day of my period. So I know the herbs were good for something!

So right now I'm thinking of discontinuing the drops and only continuing the B6 and RRL tea (along with the prenatals). Have any of you had similar results while taking herbs? Any advice?

Thanks!
