here. The question is whether I ovulated on CD15 or CD18. I'm looking mainly at the thermal shift, as my other data aren't too reliable. I have a copper IUD, which means that I get a lot of EW. It always continues for a day or so after ovulation, and may continue throughout my luteal phase. I've only recently begun charting cervical position, and am not always sure that I got it right. I've been using progesterone cream for the last few months during my luteal phase, although I ran out a few days in this time, and while that doesn't seem to have sorted out my hormones overall, it has caused luteal phase spotting, so again don't read too much into that. It's my third month using the cream, and I have no idea whether it may have finally kicked in and got my hormones better balanced. I've also been taking new supplements over the last few months, including lots of spirulina, which apparently does great things for fertility...in birds.
I usually get a clear, strong thermal shift, with a consistent luteal phase of 9 days (occasionally 8 or 10, but that's not happened for a while), and so I usually go by the thermal shift when deciding ovulation. My normal pattern is for my temps to remain high during the first week of my cycle, then fall to the pre-ovulatory level, so again, don't be thrown by that. My coverline for the last few cycles has been between 97.3 and 97.4, which is one reason why I'm leaning towards CD15 as that fits that pattern, and if anything it's been colder than usual this month, not warmer. However, if I did ovulate on CD15, I'm suddenly getting a longer luteal phase. If that is the case then I'm delighted, I've been trying to lengthen it for ages in the hope that balancing out my cycle will help with the hormonal problems I experience, and this is why I really do need to work out when I ovulated, as I need to decide which treatments to continue.
