Intro and questions.

Hi everyone. Introductions!

1) Are you new to FAM or an experienced FAM user? Very new- its day 3 for me.

2) Why do you want to use FAM? Or, if you are experienced, why have you chosen FAM? I'm not interested in HBC and I really want to know whats going on with my crazy body.

3) Are you using FAM to avoid pregnancy, to conceive a child, or for another reason? Trying to avoid! I'm getting married in two months, and I'd prefer not to have a honeymoon baby.

4) What do you hope to gain from this community? Knowledge and support.

5) What do you hope to contribute to this community? Knowledge and support- once I'm more seasoned.

Question time!
I checked out TCOYF from the library, and I read most of it, but I haven't bought it quite yet.
I didn't start at the beginning of my cycle (because my periods are quite irregular; I never quite know when I will get it).
My temps seem a bit high compared to other charts- and due to my cervical position/fluid, I'm pretty sure I haven't ovulated yet.
The past three days:
98.0 - dry/slightly creamy
97.9 - dry/slightly creamy
98.3 - more creamy

Thought I haven't ever really tracked this stuff before, I know I have very distinctive cycles when it comes to cervical fluid.
Do these temps seem to high?

Also, if I normally wake up and take my temp at 6:00, but on Friday the garbage truck comes and wakes me up at 5:00 (but I fall back asleep and take my temperature as scheduled at 6), will my temperature be inaccurate?

I also have a question about annovulation-

I can't be sure, but because of what I learned in TCOYF, I think I may not be ovulating regularly.

Let me start by sharing some of my "symptoms".
1. I usually never have a normal period.. I've had it every two weeks and I've also gone up to five months between.
2. Oftentimes I will get my normal pms symptoms (acne, bloating, cramps, backache/headache, sore breasts) and I feel like I'm going to BLOW at any moment... and then I never get my period. And it all goes back to normal.

This seems sort of consistent with what it says in the book, but I'm not underweight, menopausal, in puberty, or anything like that. The first time I went for a pap (last year), I mentioned it to the GP and he said that since I'm young (I'm 21) my cycle is probably just "regulating" itself.
The only reason I have a hard time believing that is because when I got my period at 12, I could set the calendar by my cycles and I was 15 when everything went out of whack. I was pretty sure that it was my circumstances at the time that caused the irregularity. At the time, I was underweight, didn't eat much, and was exposed to a lot of chemicals (long story).

Does this seem like a possibility?  Obviously I'm going to chart for a few months, but I want to know if I should be looking out for this.  I want to be armed with my charts if I have to go see the doctor about it.  Although, would he/she even take me seriously?

SORRY it was so long, but I have so many questions!  If only I owned the book, I could probably look  some of this up.

Thank you in advance!!
