question for those NOT ttc

Dec 16, 2006 08:05

hi, all! due to severe migraines, i'm just starting the FAM this cycle after coming off of the BCP. we're not trying for a little person at this point, and i was wondering what kind of success you all have had with FAM as your primary method of BC. specifically, has anyone NOT done the NFP style and still had success without using a backup like condom or diaphram. those things give me irritation like no other, and the husband is convinced that pulling out during fertile phase would be sufficient, though i've read WAY TOO MANY ann landers columns to feel completely safe or even marginally safe doing that, though he's fine with it. has anyone found it to be sufficient? for now, since cycles can be wacky after BCP we're doing that all the time, even if i think i'm not fertile, for at least this cycle, maybe more until i'm certain i'm understanding how it's all working.

i will also say as a caveat that we are in a happy, stable relationship, fully able to support and love future baby, and we do plan to have at least two and are talking about conceiving sometime in (preferrably late) 2007, so should i become pregnant, it wouldn't be earth shattering and we would welcome baby with open arms. we'd just like to time it better :) so, were my speculations that withdrawl will not necessarily provide us the protection that we're looking for to be true, it wouldn't be anywhere near the end of the world, just not as planned.

thanks for your help!
