On Sunday February 5th, there will be a "Bowling For Broadway" fundraiser to help Broadway's CLASS ACT raise money to travel to go see the Tony's and some shows during that week. The tickets are $20 for students and $25 for adults, and this includes dinner, drinks, and entertainment...as well as a game or two of bowling. I know that bowling might not sound like a boatload of fun to you guys...but if you have friends or family members who like to bowl...I'd appriciate any help at all. Here's the details:

Sunday, February 5th
5pm-8pm

Individuals and/or companies will buy places on a team. (Adults:$25 Students:$20)

THE TOURNAMENT

This will be a one game tournament. For the first 3 times someone bowls a strike, the tournament will stop and the company will perform a number.

DINNER

As each lane ends their game, participants will begin to eat a spaghetti dinner, provided by parents of the company members. We’ll serve pastas, salad, garlic bread and soda.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Following the dinner portion of the evening, there will be an awards ceremony where awards will be given to participants. Prizes will be Broadway’s CLASS ACT merchandise and a certificate. Winning titles will include: Highest Score, Best Gutter Ball, Best Form, Most Team Spirit, etc.

ROCK A BOWL

Once the awards ceremony has concluded, the evening will continue with ‘rock-a-bowl’ where people bowl for prizes by getting a strike when a glow-in-the-dark pin is in the head position. These prizes will include merchandise from Broadway shows and any prizes donated by local businesses, secured from parents of company members. These prizes should be smaller in nature and more ‘fun’ so as not to be confused with the silent auction items.

SILENT AUCTION

In addition to the bowling event, company members and parents will secure donations from local businesses, etc. for a silent auction. I need a parent to agree to head up this aspect of the evening. We will have a table at the event where people will bid on the various items donated.

TICKETS

Physical tickets will not be issued for the event. All participants will pre-pay via check to Florida Theatrical Association when sending in their registration form and be on a registration list. Check-in begins at 4:30pm at the bowling alley. Student i.d. will be required at check-in for those who purchased a student rate.

BOWLER SPONSERS

Each player will solicit sponsorships for his/her participation in the tournament. (If each player gets $1.00 from 50 people, that’s $50.00 per each player). Each player is encouraged to purchase his/her own blank t-shirt and have each ‘sponsor’ sign his/her name on the player’s shirt that he/she will then wear the night of the event. A prize will be awarded to the player who brings in the most sponsorship dollars. (These dollars may not be used to cover the player’s ticket cost.)
