There’s a certain absent aspect of you

which I can’t quite comprehended yet.

Brush it away and let the light shine through.

Each dawn exerted to divine your mood,

smiling hands on my skin and I forget

there’s a certain absent aspect of you.

A relaxing, relapsing tactile view

of fingers tracing roadmaps in my sweat,

brush it aside and let the light shine through.

Long nights spent in stoned complacence, but who

we were was a lost, discarded concept.

There’s a certain absent aspect of you.

Withdrawing from you I’m cold-turkey blue

shivering and puking like when we met.

Brush it away and let the light shine through.

Regenerating you I start anew,

laying foundations for future neglect

there’s a certain absent aspect of you.

Brush it away and let the light shine through.

Untitled free verse

You’re dispersing

diffusing through

my fingers like

sunlight piercing

the cover

of leaves.

There’s a certain transience

To you.

You’re like cupped

Hands full of sand

Trickling, sneaking

Slipping away, grain by grain.

Falling to be gathered,

Cupped and

To trickle, sneak

And slip away again.

I don’t take your escapes personally.

It’s a quality which is

Inherent to you.

You’re simply not

Meant to be bound

By ethereal, earthly,

Metaphoric chains.

You’re an escape

Artist.

You’re like  Houdini

but sans

Spectacle:

A demonstration

Of pure, unaltered

Unconstricted

Halation.

Series of Haiku

Inky sky, full moon.
Lunar rays cascading down,
as we dance beneath.

*

The days grey prelude,
Birds sing in celebration
of the worlds return.

*

Morning sun shining.
Heat washes across my back,
dispelling nights chill.

*

Light pouring in shafts.
Peeking through eucalypt leaves,
bright yellow streamers.

*

Your face a warm sun.
Bright eyes are the reason I
Am orbiting around.
