Gaming - Pirates vs Ninjas...
I've been on the Storytelling team for Waterloo by Night for some time now. I enjoy running the game but I've been thinking about starting up a table top game again. The question of course is what kind of game to I want to run?
I've been thinking of running either a Legend of the 5 Rings game or a 7th Sea game. I've been reading a little about both of the settings and they have some appeal to me. They're both fantasy settings based on the real world. Legend of the 5 Rings is a fantasy version of feudal Japan and 7th Sea is a fantasy version of 17th century Europe. Both settings seem to be ripe for telling interesting stories in. Both setting's quasi historical bent appeals to the historian in me.
The question is which of the two settings to I want to use. I haven't decided that yet....Though I must say if I choose Legend of the 5 Rings I know I'd have trouble pronouncing those Japanese names.
