Lazy Sunday

Jul 29, 2007 21:48

I figured that its the end of the weekend and I should probably post something.  Looking at my most recent posts I realized I haven't posted here in a while.   I guess I just really haven't had a lot to say here.  I figure I will try to post here more often but no guarantees.

I went to WBN yesterday and it seems that my character has managed to come Prince.  I've spent a long time scheming and plotting towards the goal but never actually figured I would make it there.  I am thinking that the easy task was getting to the position in the first place.  I now have to try and keep it for a little while.  It should be an interesting ride.

Today has been a pretty lazy and relaxed day.  Its been lazy and relaxed despite the fact that I have actually gotten a lot of what I intended to do accomplished.  Things like grocery shopping, cleaning and other household chores.

I've also spent part of the day doing some final planning for my holidays.  I figure I haven't actually taken any holidays since I started my job at the University of Waterloo two years ago.  I am taking a pilgrimage to the gamer Mecca of GenCon.  A bubby of mine and I are driving down there for entire duration of the convention.  I'm very much looking forward to the experience.

I've been formulating a list of things I am interested in picking up when I am down there.

1) Changling - The Lost - This is the new World of Darkness' version of changeling.  It being released with much fanfare at GenCon.  I am also picking up a copy for a friend.

2) Damnation City - This is a Requiem product that deals with the construction and make up of cities.  I've read a lot about it and its got a lot of good tips for creating a city to set a game in.

3) CBT Total War - The most recent book containing the rules for Battletech.  I saw that book at a demo not that long ago and it was an absolutely fantastic looking book.

4) The Battlestar Galactica RPG - This is an RPG based of the new run of the shown.   The game is being developed produced by Margeret Weiss Productions the same company that produced the Serenity RPG.  It supposedly using the same base mechanic as the Serenity RPG.  I am told that they are fixing some of the breaks that the Serenity RPG's system had.

5) Prime Time Adventures - Developed by the small press company called Dog Eared Press.  Its a game that supposedly encourages your campaign to run more like a televisions series.  I've heard a lot of good things about the game.

6) Dice -  Because lets be honest what gamer couldn't use more dice.

I will probably pick up a lot more stuff then that but that is all I plan on picking up for sure.

weekend, gaming
