in a move that can only be chalked up to sheer idiocy/bangwagonism, new york magazine has proclaimed gossip girl, yes, that gossip girl, as the best show ever and masturbates it further by giving the series a cover and a very long feature article called "the genius of gossip girl". no kidding. they claim that the show is changing the way we watch television and is the best teen drama of all time.
i'm sorry, but i've seen a few episode of this show, because the books are my cheap literary crack and i enjoyed those, and the show may be tolerable but is NO WAY the best teen drama ever.
the OC tapped into something this show hasn't (though josh schwartz produced it and gossip girl), and while its run was overextended, dawson's creek was brilliant in its heyday. and what about buffy?
and on non-teen related shows, sex and the city, even at it's worst, was better than this show.
and oh yeah, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.
