i went to the dentist yesterday. actually i demanded they see me yesterday. i told them after 7 days i felt absolutely no better and that something had to be wrong with me. they looked at my mouth and decided i have dry socket. my understanding is that basically the bloodclot that usually forms in the socket to protect the bone and nerves just did not form in my mouth for some reason. apparently this is really common with really difficult or tramatic extrations, so i was at high risk. i feel like i have probably had dry socket all week and i've seen the dentist twice this week and they were just really patronizing and told me i was fine. it just pisses me off that i could have possibly been treated for this on wednesday and had a few days with less suffering. they put a gel and a dressing in my socket and had me keep it in all day. it helped a lot. i am still sore and in a lot of pain, but at least we have finally identified a problem and we can move forward towards dealing with it and maybe i can get my life back soon.
in other less sucktastic news...
today was the first day in over a week i really got to go out and it was really lovely. i went to a really out of control cute pet fair at the expo center with ellie and it was packed with adorable animals. she got a really good chance to get out and socialize and we got a bunch of free samples and a few new little gifts. there was also "oregon's largest garage sale" at the expo center which was basically the flea market of my dreams! it was overwhelmingly amazing. i got some really great scores really cheap and had a really fun time. more on that when i get a chance to update my blog. tomorrow i am
walking for autism awareness with some of my favorite coworkers and then visiting bryan at his table at
stumptown comics fest. i needed a good weekend like this and i am hopeful the pain will go away soon and things can just get back to being able to soak up the spring.
