I JUST REALLY WANT KRISTEN AND BILL TO ACT LIKE THEY'RE MARRIED IN THE BACKGROUND HAVE HISTORY FROM WORKING NARCOTICS TOGETHER, WHILE AMY AND SETH HAVE ANGRY SEXUAL TENSION ABOUT AMY TAKING LIKE JIMMY'S PLACE OR SOMETHING. Meanwhile JSuds can be Evrard and just chill in the background and Maya's really possessive of a gumball machine that she has in her office.
I AM SUPER INTO THIS. FOR REASONS HAHA. Jimmy leaves because being a cop is kinda gloomy and Amy scores a big promotion and is basically impossible to work with and at first Maya is the only one -- begrudgingly -- in her corner, and Bill and Kristen were just bumped up to homicide from narcotics and no one knows how these two clowns ever get any work done (and omg now I can't stop thinking of that scene when Lou and Augie were talking about Augie's wife having a kid and Lou's all SHE'S CRAZYYYYYY), and yes, good, I want this hahaha.
YES, like Amy is really good at her job but she always takes lead and makes it hard for other people to contribute. Also it doesn't help that Seth is bitter and wanted to maybe see if he could get bumped up but she puts paid to that like, instantly. Maya takes her job very seriously - namely that she does a lot of smoking in her office and dressing down Bill and Kristen when they do something stupid. (OH GOD BUT IT WOULD BE SO GREAT, they get super drunk at a racket and Bill's been weird all day and it comes out and she's just like BUT THAT WOULD BE THE WORST IDEA EVER)
WILL ARNETT IS COSTELLO HAHAHAHA. And Amy's just really aggressive and always convinced that not only is she right but her way is the only way, and she makes a lot of enemies way faster than she makes any friends haha. And Maya is very serious about her job! And also very serious about everyone being able to drink on the job so long as it goes unreported! And ahahaha Bill and Kristen basically live in her office and she's kinda glad Amy started poaching all those cases because that means it's just a little less likely she's going to need to have a conversation about what is appropriate behavior in the field where Detectives Hader and Wiig are concerned. (AHHHH THE RACKET! I now want fic centered entirely on that racket! And of course what happens with Amy and Seth and Will and OF COURSE what happens after Kristen drunkenly blurts out, "SHE'S CRAZYYYYYY," and Bill starts drunkenly laughing at that!!!! EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!)
Well clearly they'd go out to smoke in the alley or whatever and he's like "Oh god, I cannot have a child with that woman, it will literally kill me" and then it's pretty likely that they bang out there. Will gets really gross with Amy at one point and she gets mad meanwhile Seth's watching, gets way too drunk and asks Amy point blank if she ever slept with Arnett, to which she basically responds "What the fuck makes you think you can even ask me that question Meyers?". And he says something about you know, having a right to know how she took the promotion that should've been his but he's too drunk for that to sound totally convincing so she corners him. "Oh god, is this what this is? You've got some pathetic hard-on for me and you can't deal with it? Grow the fuck up Seth."
And Maya and JSuds are just chilling at a booth watching it go down and Maya really doesn't want to deal with the paperwork on this one.

Ugh, living for some alley banging hahaha. And ahhhhhhh Y E S re: Seth and Amy and Will as our faux Costello! And of course Seth would have a thing for Amy completely disproportionate to how she feels about him! BUT OF COURSE! Ugh, this is giving me not only feels about these fools but nostalgic Prime Suspect feels haha. I MISS THIS SHOW.
And poor Maya. She's almost entirely certain that her legacy is going to be the entire shitshow that is her department right now hahaha.

I AM COMBINING TOO MANY SETS OF FEELINGS BUT I REALLY DON'T CARE. (Also sometimes I think about the fact we only have 12 episodes and it is genuinely just, WHY WAS IT TAKEN FROM US SO SOON?) But oh god yeah Seth is way, way more into her and kind of loathes himself for it, whereas she sort of falls into it because she thinks fucking him in the breakroom might be some sort of stress reliever (clue: it's not)
