It's hard to describe but I think you did such an excellent job with these two and the fact that it wasn't some grand epic sweeping romantic battle that ended them, but rather that eventual acceptance and the fact that fate sort of stepped in and took its place in between them, etc. etc. I think that's what makes it so effing sad, too. GAH, IT WAS GORGEOUS.
(And I have to say, the second chainmail was mentioned I remembered our conversation and knew what was coming, HEE!)

But thank you! And yes! That was definitely what I was gunning for - I think that tragedy, when it strikes in its more mundane and quiet forms, such as acceptance of the inevitable and the doomed, is far more gut-wrenching than some big, Romeo and Juliet style thing, hahaha. BUT I AM GLAD YOU LIKED! These two were fun, if not tricky, to write.
(HAHA I couldn't help myself!)

You're fantastic with suspense. The fact that they kissed about half way into the story - perfect!
Hopefully, even though they have weight of their destiny conspiring against them, the writers of the show will be kinder to them then you were. =P

And yes! Here is hoping that the writers are a kinder lot than I, hee! &hearts

I love your turns of phrase, and the way you've captured the complexity of their relationship so well. The style of writing is incredible, really drawing the reader in and on.
Thanks for sharing this.
