Prying my eyes open again, I gave him a long look. Do I want him to pour it over me? Aren't the sheets wet enough already? I'm starting to think the time in his room set him back a few decades. When he was still that human shy vampire, living of rats. Well, not that far back, but still.

Do I want him to pour it over me. Of course not. That'll be quite a shock to the system, especially now. Suddenly cold water which is more then just a few drops, isn't good. The tub? Right, and then drag my naked arse out of bed. I think not. He might not have much of a problem jumping on me naked. I do have a problem going around naked. I mean, it's bad enough I'm naked in Angel's bed. Though, it could be worse. I could've been over at Cordelia's.

When Angel clicked out the lamp, I let out a relieved sigh. Which was soon followed by a sharp gasp as a lot more water then just a few drops fell on me. A shudder ran through me, as well as a sharp pain through my chest. Gritting my teeth, I took deep even breaths and for once was glad I hadn't the energy to shout. The last thing he needs right now is someone who screams like a girl.

"I'm sorry," I said hurriedly as Wesley's breath hitched, before I could hear him forcedly steadying it. I quickly put the glass up, grabbing a fistful of the sheets and wiping the water off quickly yet gently.

"Are you okay?" I asked again, sounding like a moron repeating myself. I dropped the sheets again, and looked at him, examining his face for signs of something else I could do to help.

Awkwardly, I placed a hand on his shoulder again, and looked around the room, looking for something, anything to use to help, or just to use as a distraction from the clumsy mistake I had just made. After another moment of just listening to him breathe, I muttered again, "I'm sorry..."

It was strange, but apparently one can't control some things of the body. Even when paralyzed. A small smile slipped on my face as Angel started to fuss about. The soft silk sheets sliding over my skin as he tried to wipe the cold water away. Of course by now it was slightly warm.

"'S okay," I said, after trying to speak several times. "Could've...happened to me." Well, it certainly could. If anyone was a bumbling fool around here, it was me. Which is, no doubt, how I ended up in this situation in the first place. I watched him looking around alarmed, and I wondered what he was looking for.

Concentrating on my breathing again, I took in slow breaths, letting them out equally as slow. My eyes ticked to the hand on my shoulder. It felt nice, such a cool hand. I never realized just how cool Angel's hands were. Or, Angel himself, I suppose. "'S alright," I tried to assure him, dragging my eyes back to look at him.

I glanced out of the corner of my eye, surprised when Wesley started smiling as I hurriedly brushed the water off of him. I looked at him, then blinked, confused.

"So... you think that was funny?" I asked, looking at him, a small smile pulling at my lips. "I mean, if it's so funny, I could do it again..." I smirked at him, before fading into seriousness.

I dropped the sheets from my hand, realizing I still held them bunched up in my hand. I rolled my eyes at myself, then looked back at Wes, my hand still resting on his shoulder. He was still really warm... warmer than was probably safe for any human. Briefly, I wondered if I should get him to a doctor, then remembered that most doctors didn't deal with this... 'Hey, this is my friend. He got temporarily paralyzed by a demon we were fighting, and he alternates between freezing and burning up... can you help?'

And for some reason, I really didn't want to end up spending the rest of the night in the lock up they had for lunatics at the hospital.

"No," I whispered, small smile still in place. The whole water splashing had been anything but funny. It had been painful in some way. From the shock of suddenly having a lot of cold water on your hot skin instead of just a few drops. "Your face," I explained. "'S funny."

Swallowing hard, I let my eyes close again. I wasn't tired, but they just didn't want to stay open the entire time. Probably due to the muscles even there being affected. Who knew. When this was over, I was going to do some thorough reseacrh on this demon. See what information they have and then possibly write my own thesis. I've enough experience now, I'd wager.

And dear god, why can't it be cooler in here. Luckily I'm don't seem to be getting any *warmer*. At least, I don't think so. Not like I can tell the difference right now. Opening my eyes to slits, I glanced at Angel. His hand was still cool on my shoulder, though by now I was heating up his skin. Was he brooding again? "What...thinking?"

I rolled my eyes slightly, before looking back at Wes, trying to keep my face serious. "Oh... so we're already to you thinking I look funny? I mean, we know Cordy thinks I do, but I had thought maybe you wouldn't think that..." I smiled slightly unable to help myself, before looking away.

I took my hand off Wesley's shoulder, reaching across to the other table, turning the light over there off, then touching the water glass again. Did he need more to drink? And the other question there was, would I be able to give him a drink without spilling it all over him again?

"Hm?" I asked, looking back over at Wes. "I was just wondering if you were still thirsty or something. I promise not to spill it on you this time," I added wryly.

A small cough made its way out of my throat. Bloody marvelous, having a dry throat gave me an itching cough. One of those which made you cough even if you don't want too. My smile slipped back at Angel's word though. "Always thought...you were funny," I breathed, and then concentrated on actually getting some oxygen in my lungs.

Pushing the covers a bit further down, just below my ribcage which was already far enough, I let out a slow breath. I was feeling hot and cold at the same time. I think this is what people mean by 'cold sweat'. It was most uncomfortable. Can't be very pleasant for Angel's sensitive smell.

I swallowed hard he mentioned being thirsty. Very slowly I managed to nod, even though I could hardly see him. At least the room wasn't hurting my eyes anymore. Or the light rather. Then there was another muscle spasm shooting up my leg. Gritting my teeth, I squeezed my eyes shut and waited for it to pass. How many time had passed since the infection?

"If...you promise," I said, once the pain was bearable. "Still thirsty...sorry."

I raised an eyebrow, not sure if the thinking I was funny was a compliment or an insult. Deciding to let it go, I shrugged, then frowned as Wesley's eyes flickered shut again. If he was hurting this much...

I reached for the glass, and frowned when I saw it was almost empty. I gave Wes an apologetic look, then moved off of the bed, being careful not to jar it too much. "Hold on... I'm going to get some more water, okay?"

Moving into the kitchen, I filled the glass again, tossing in a few more ice cubes. Couldn't hurt, right? I went back out into the bedroom, and showed Wesley the glass.

"Yeah, this time I promise I won't spill it." I held up one hand solemnly as I approached, then frowned at the heat I could still sense coming from Wes. That wasnt a good tihng... I sat back down by Wes, then held the glass to his lips again, waiting for him to drink.

I pried my eyes open again when he said he was going to get some more water. I'd have nodded, but moving my head wasn't an option just yet. I kept trying to move my fingers while he was gone to get water. Thus far I'd been able to move them a little bit.

It was both promising and frustrating. I wanted to bloody move. There's nothing more humiliating then having to lay here helpless and not being able to even move. Of course there's still the naked factor. I cannot believe I had to get this during the middle of a shower. And then Angel had to haul my arse out of there. He saw me naked, god. I'm still blushing just even thinking about it. This will be so bloody awkward once I get better.

I'd noticed my eyes had closed again when I heard Angel's voice, but didn't see him. Prying them open again, I offered him a smile. Normally, I'd be somewhat in awe about the fact that he'd just made a joke. Knowingly. I just didn't have the energy right now. Bugger all. As I said, frustrating.

I tried to raise my head to reach the glass and took a few sips before I was unable to keep my head up. Panting, I let it fall down again, giving Angel a look that was a mixture between helpless and frustrated. "How...long?" I asked, not knowing if he understood that I asked how long this had been going on now.

I watched closely as Wesley sipped at the water, before his head fell back. Concerned, I looked at him, then silently slipped my hand beneath his head, holding him up so he could drink the water. He looked so frustrated at himself... I let him drink more water, before I realized he'd asked a question.

"What do you mean, how long?" I asked, slightly confused. How much longer he'd be paralyzed, or something else? How much longer until I'd leave him alone? I knew that this wasn't going to make his feel good about himself, having me help him drink and everything, but I was a vampire, and his friend. I wanted to help him, and it wasn't like I hadn't seen a naked body before. It was Wes, though...

"Um, it's only 10," I muttered. "So, it's only been about an hour." Which meant about three or four to go of this... I carefully let his head settle back on the pillow. As I pulled away, my hand settled briefly on his face, before moving away. I set the glass back on the table, looking back over at Wesley. "Is there anything else you need?"
