Time, Places, & Things : The 44 Week 35 Round Up/Update [T44W35RU/U -3]

Mar 06, 2018 18:51

Just a week ago I'd been in the Cities now for 17yrs... crazy how time passes, each year surpassing records of how long I've lived in one area, in one city, in one apartment, worked at one location, etc etc
'course, if things continue to go well it'll be awhile before the records stop
( unless someone buys me a winning lottery ticket so I can get a home or do something else entirely - I'm always open to a few million dollars :) )

in just 6 weeks from now I'll be on the road again *whew* - feels like so far away, yet it's coming up so fast !
I've already been called crazy or insane for intending to travel alone, to places I've never been, and with only the very vaguest of "plans"/direction...
BUT... the same thing was said about my roadtrip last year and the year prior and, quite honestly, I enjoyed the 7 hells out of them !

indeed, those roadtrips were less than a third of the intent of this trip, but I nonetheless feel that this trip is going to be as enjoyable

I've even tentatively titled it the "Southbound And Roam" Roadtrip *laughs*

the initial goal will be the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain where a friend lives... and just wander waywardly northward and explore
I'll avoid the larger cities, as I like - knowing that there'll be something to discover and enjoy along the way *smiles*
maybe stay a night or two of the week in a hotel, but largely just "camp out" in the rental ( just as I did last year and prior )

I'm not above taking suggestions, of course, anywhere in the 'Mid-Southern' United States and upwards back towards home state again...
aye, someone already mentioned Graceland BUT when I looked at it - good gods! - the cost is absurd and unbelievable ( cost nearly as much as the rental! )
so... yeah, that's a "No" to Graceland... *yeesh*

otherwise, some rough points and interesting ones these nigh couple weeks since my last posting, but otherwise fairly "normal"

my Aunt's visitation was, unsurprisingly, laughter and tears, but I was very, very glad I was able to make it - wish I could see some relatives more often and under better circumstances, but that's how life goes...
it appears that my cousins appreciated my being there as well :)

my youngest spawnling's 'budding womanhood,' well - other than more visits to the bathroom (for obvious reason), all was relatively normal other than her being unusually protective of me...
*shrugs* who knows if it's directly related or not, but I assured her ( multiple times ) I can handle myself - and am used to her sister AND her picking on me, so no need for the growls and claws
( though it was amusing to hear her tell me "but she was picking on you, daddy!" *laughs* )
I'm sure it won't be too long before the eldest enters it herself and then I'll be doubtly damned *smirks*

had some work glitches as the month turned, but not the first time, so not too unusual, just a minor nuisance we've had to deal with

along with the nasty weather that hit us ( work closed early yesterday due to the snowstorm and rains ), s'been a slow start for some of my work

ANYways - here's hoping things warm up in 6 weeks... though I suppose since I'll be southbound most of it, it's not that big of a deal ?!
*laughs*

Farethee well for now, my Lovelies and Gentlefolk - keep smiling and Living Life !

twittage ::
2/24 : "officially" have appropriate wear for the visitation tomorrow... maybe it's a good thing I don't attend visitations/funerals as often as they occur in my life - but some mean more than others ( and are closer and easier to attend ) - nonetheless, clothes that fit (yay?)!
2/24 II : If the reason your god allows murdered kids is cuz schools won't "allow" it, you're not only misinformed but need a new religion!
2/25 : Idea Of The Morning : Redacted Document Mad Libs - replace each redacted item with Noun, Verb, Adjective, Proper Name, Place, Official Title, etc ... at least let us have a little bit of fun with the nonsense :)
2/25 II : visitations/wakes are always a tough mixture of laughter and tears, but I am glad I was able to make it to one whom meant so much to so many, friends and family alike... if only I'm so lucky to be remembered so well and wonderfully amongst those who still remain
2/27 : 17 years today I've been in the Cities ( not same 'burb, but Cities nonetheless )... a little weird/scary how fast time has flown, how much has changed, how many people I've met and lost in this so-quick period of time...
3/1 : 'neath a full moon of weirdness work-wise ( including down systems ), new news on the spawnling front ( glasses & budding womanhood ), not-quite-warm-enough-to-enjoy weather, and annoying auto-calls ( on both phones >:( )
3/3 : 6yrs ago & still true : with god, many things are spellable - like dogtired, doggone, goddamnit, Godzilla, dogma, Goldfinger, Goldeneye, dungeons & dragons, Deuce Bigalow, dodgeball, and Morgan Freeman.
3/3 II : *laughs* just had a HUGE sneeze and one long grey hair flew off my beard and floated about the living room for a bit, seemingly confused about what had occurred, its goal in life, and what will become of it - before finally giving up and stopping midflight, falling to its doom
3/3 III : "I forgot to tell you last weekend I got crumbs in the bed that make it really uncomfortable to sleep"
well... that's not something I can solve at a quarter-to-ten at night, you know
"oh... yeah, I guess. I'll just sleep on top of the sheet then"
great idea, kiddo
3/6 (6p) : by this time in 6 weeks I should be be an hour or so over the Missouri border ( dependent upon traffic, food/rest stops, and when I'm able to get out of the Cities ) on the first leg of my "Southbound And Roam" Roadtrip ... exciting and insane in all the right ways :)

unusualist - I have yet to find a religion and/or spirituality that fits my own personal beliefs... other than, of course, the fact I am a (fallen) god.
