Darkened Daze : The 42 Week 42 Round Up/Update [T42W42RU/U]
just had to pop a naproxen for my head - which is rare for me, as I usually just deal with pain - so bear with me as my bearings are a bit skewed this early evenin'
...for starters, s'been a busy couple weeks and this weekend was going to be a relax-and-just-let-it-be weekend BUT fate had other plans
this mornin', while gettin' nearly caught up on my ever-shifting work backlog, got hit with news that nearly took for a full-blown emotional blow-out *sighs*
namely that my favourite cousin, one who I had felt closest to, is gone...
details are still minimal, but she is no longer with us as of this morning
I left work early, after gettin' hit a little harder than I expected, though I already had my hours in
got ahold of my fathre thereafter and left him know - last I'd heard/known there were still relatives not yet aware...
we're not exactly a well-connected family - but bad news tends to fly pretty fast ( especially in this social media world )
hells, she's the 5th person I know/have known that passed this year, but each death hits differently and Joanne "Jo" meant worlds to me
so, yeh, I'm a bit burnt and suddenly my head was too much to just handle pain-wise *sigh*
I avoid funerals like the plague - that's my way - but this is one that I won't be avoiding...
when my sister died, she was there for me at just the right moment(s) - and even though I've seldom seen her in all the years, our conversations were great and natural and wonderful
sadly I had been talking with her recently of figurin' out a way to visit her over my upcoming vacation time(s)...
demn.
So... yeh, this is a hard one for me - and I've faced many a death :(
broke down during a couple convos - with my fathre and with the ex-wife - but it happens and better than just bottle it in, neh?
( been there, done that - when my sister died - and it f'd me up but good mentally... don't need that again )
again, no details yet - but the talk with the GM just after getting the news he's good with whatever I need ( thankfully )
*whew* having a good work and good work relationship helps in tragedy situations, I suppose... they've helped before, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised
ANYways... yeh, in a bit of a darkened daze mentally and emotionally, but will get through this as I get through everything
that's what willpower is all about... and hells, this isn't the worst thing I've ever faced in my lifetime...
and I doubt it will be in the future

didn't even realize/notice until talking with the maintenance guy that a couple very cool neighbours I've had for years have moved out :(

today's weather will be cold with a high of barely ok-better than yesterday aren't you glad it's a weekend so you don't HAVE to go anywhere

poor memory sometimes sucks - had someone friendly-say "hey, you!" at HyVee today, so responded "hey, you, too!" - no idea who they were !
4/15 :
it's still such a gorgeous eve... thinking I may take a late night walk after the groceries arrive - good warm-up to spawnling weekend :)
4/19 :
just had a cartoon moment: walking home, from the other way was a duck - it stopped, tilting its head at me, then continued on after a beat
4/21 :
yesterday's mileage was just under 6.5 miles... I've got to do start doing that more often - this weekend's supposed to be nice enough! :)
