The Amazing World Of The Rhose Household (and the world around us)?

Oct 10, 2006 15:07

*wow* 36 Calendar Months! 3 Years of dating, 4 days shy of 9 months married, with a 13month old daughter, and an ever changing world for memori_lain, Jae, and I!
Today's holidays are National Angel Food Cake Day (mmm... I love Angel Food Cake) and Native American Day.

Sometimes daughters are filled with other things, too, as Jae proved last night when she suddenly spewed semisolid white stuff over Elle's computer area (and parts of her computer). Purely disgusting (ick)... then went through all but two of her remaining diapers before 7:30 this morning. Trust me, went through them is right *sigh*... how can one child hold so much liquid (again... ick)?
Not sure what we're going to do once these two are used this morning, since payday's not 'til Friday, but we'll figure something out. Can't just have a nude child running around, so we'll figure something.

BTW, anyone have any idea how to teach an excessively stubborn already argumentative child NOT to grab/take certain things... even if we're not looking? Oy! Of course, our helspawn does it while we're looking, even, no matter if she's already been spanked several times that day. And, of course, fits from being denied are all too common.
Heh, the Dethklok song "Children Make You Brutal" (from Metalocalypse) is true at least in title, wouldn't know about the lyrics [yet] since I'm not wheelchair bound or have erectile dysfunction *laughs*... those who know, know.

I'm probably one of the few that agree, but I like the new changes to the Cities taxi laws. I'd need to grow extra fingers/toes to be able to count how many times when I worked downtown that I got screwed by cabbies that either refused to go where I was going or wouldn't stop/pick me up "because it's bar rush and [they] need those fares."
Yeah, it probably won't help illegal immigration having immigrant-owned cab companies, but if I can actually get around the Cities easier (and, possibly, cheaper), I say "Helsyeh!" It at least stops the (I would assume illegal) practice of cab companies buying all the "limited" licences and selling them for tens of thousands.
Trust me, Suburban Cab is the first one I'd like to see go out of business, they're shady motherfraggers, believe me!

On our "beloved moral el presidente" Bush's prompting, the UN Security Council condemned North Korea's nuclear testing, but no UN sanctions have been set (yet). The People's Republic Of China, however, feels the most threatened by their neighbor's "reclusive Stalinist dictator known for cruelty and unpredictability."

(Finally,) in movie news, Steve Carell is returning as character Evan Baxter in the "non-"sequel Evan Almighty, which is bound to be funnier without Jim Carrey. And with Freeman returning as God *laughs*, should be damn good!!
