What The Sam F**klebee Is "Make Hat Day??"

Friday's holidays begin with the First Day Of The Greater Eleusinian Mysteries, along with POW/MIA Recognition Day, Make Hat Day (Make Hat Day? WTF...?), and Felt Hat Day. Uhm... I guess two hats are better than one? Personally, my vote goes for the Greater Eleusinian Mysteries.

International History: Stone slab bears earliest known writing in the Americas & Western Hemisphere! Not (yet) deciphered, if it's at all possible, the language is roughly three centuries older than what previously had been thought to be the earliest example of writing in the Americas. The theory that it's Olmec comes from it being discovered while villagers were quarrying an ancient Olmec mound for road-building material in Veracruz, Mexico.

Spinach bad for you? Well, bagged spinach, apparantly. After a multistate outbreak of E. coli from fresh bagged spinach, we're being told to throw it out and not eat it. Hey, Popeye ate the canned stuff raw, so he's still ok.
