I need to know a little more about the laptop. A brand and model number will do just fine.

Ok, almost there! The Compaq logo or the word Presario should be fallowed by a series of numbers and passably letters, like: The "Compaq, Presario A 1234 B" It should be printed right on the laptop like a name, I need those numbers and letters. And one more thing, we have to make sure low memory is the problem, and not a hard drive full to the brim. Now don't worry, just go into "my computer" select the "C" drive, right click and go down to properties. You should see a figure for "Free Space". If you've got at least a gig or so, thats not a problem, and some more memory should really speed things up.

product: Presario V5000
s/n: CND6343FDB
p/n: RQ324UA#ABA

and then lower down is this: V5305WM

ONE of those has got to be it, hahah!

As for free space..
"C" drive - 44 GB total, 23.7 GB free

Mine runs really slow, too, and I still have a lot of space... I just don't have enough RAM. So, for me, everything that has a lot of graphics loading goes very, very slowly.

You've plenty of space on your hard drive, just sounds like you could use more memory, I'll find just what you need. I'll get right back to you.

K, found just what you need. The install is pretty easy, but do you want me to do it? We could have you going in just a few days.

Hmm, as tempting (!) as it is, I suppose I have to be logical and ask how much it's going to set me back. I may have to wait until the fall, when I start work again.

Don't worry about it. It's the least I can do, consider it a belated birthday, anniversary, special occasion, gift. Make up for all the time I was "out of touch". Your new, one gig stick of RAM is on it's way.

Urda! You don't have to do that!

Please don't be mad at me, I had a gift certificate I was never going to use, so it's not like it was real money anyway. But ether way it's done now. It will over double your memory, so you shouldn't have any problems with any sims game.
