story hours anyone?

Finally, I feel like I am making some progress in my life (forward progress that is). I got the job!!!! I'm officially a "Library Intern/Youth Services". Which pretty much means they can't actually call me a children's librarian, since i don't have my degree, but I have basically the same responsibilities. I will be planning and doing 2-3 story hours a week (which I've never done), doing school visits (which I've never done) to tell area school kids that they should come to the library, and pretty much organize and plan how to carry out the summer reading program at my library (which...you guessed it I've never done!)

All the "never dones" aside, this really is the perfect job to learn and get comfortable doing these things. Everyone has been so foward in offering their help for any questions or concerns I have, offering resources they've amassed over the years, letting me sit in on what they do...ect....

Hale is the smallest of the three branches, and is much more family oriented and easy going compared the the main branch i'm currently at.

Add in my fun classes (cataloging of information, collection development, international librarianship and "website building for libraries" for those who are interested) that start less than a week after my new job and I'm in for one interesting time.

I really really really can't wait.

On a total side note, I saw Wicked for the second time last night....still just as amazing as the first time. Go see it. Seriously.
