oh hai.
things i have done in my absence:
1) decided to actually run this year's marathon instead of just saying i'm going to. i have bought a decent pair of shoes (well. a pair of shoes. not one i found in the alley. that are held together by duct tape) and started running and doing situps. i can run ten miles now. probably more, but i'm sticking to ten this month so i don't accidentally kill myself or something.
2) bleached my hair all sorts of fun colors. mainly accidentally. it was meant to be dyed red and orange, but i may skip that bit since that's what happens naturally when i put bleach on my hair, apparently. general consensus is i look like an anime character. i am more than okay with this!
3) somehow managed to get addicted to top gear. i don't even know how this happened.
4) bought a freaking massive hard drive. because it was really time.
5) made tentative non-plans to have bizarre surrealist cross-continental adventures with
her. as is our way, these will be magnificent and immortalized in song and photograph. in preparation for this, i have resolved to stop spending money on frivolous things like freaking massive hard drives and silver knee-high stack heel boots and homocore records from the mid-90s. also, i need a passport that hasn't expired eight years ago. but there is plenty of time for this.
6) become adept at small electronics repair. by which i mean i managed to accidentally rip the plug out of my record player (only partially my fault, okay!) and then solder it back together without setting fire to anything.
some other things:
1) i either hate kings of leon or kind of love them. i genuinely do not know which. this vexes me greatly! my roommate lent me their first cd which i find fairly objectionable which, i understand, renders me HIGHLY UNCOOL. however, i also have their latest one which i have had since it came out basically and finally stopped being bored with and decided it is kind of the awesomest thing evar. idk, guys.
2) i need this week's nme. it is absolutely vital for my health and happiness. not only are babyshambles on the cover, there is also an article about the mighty boosh. two things i love more than most things in life! seriously, if pie was also somehow involved, i might have a heart attack from joy. but i don't see how pie could be involved. let's be realistic here.
