well, happy bastille day, and instead of going up to highland park to see
my favorite band ever or purchasing train tickets or hopping on my bicycle over to detroit to see same, i am sitting here in my highschool gym shorts (a.k.a. my summer ballet uniform) drinking rum and coke (alright, it's faygo, but it's cola and it was cheap and god only knows if they buy all the water in developing countries, causing people to die of thirst for their shitty products) and pondering the prospective merits of moving in with alison. number one positive i have come up with? getting to name my house something positively ridiculous and getting mail addressed to that place. em's current house is called chim cham. historically she has lived in the church of the dark lord and the pirate motel. alyse's house is called the beach house because it is on beach street. i think i'd like to live with alison. i find her to be good people. and i am making her a mixtape. FRIENDS LIST!! please to be recommending/reminding me of songs about science or with science in the title. alison is, in fact, a mad scientist. we will operate a meth lab out of our basement. that's how we'll make rent.
after i got my tattoo i thought "this is it. i don't want any others, they're all ridiculous. placement will henceforth be awkward and the asymmetry will kill me dead. i have said what i want to on my arm and i don't need anything else." but now i think that isn't true. there is a design i am working on, and it would help immensely if i could draw, but i think that if the detail doesn't get lost in the small size (since i am of a small size, i feel all mods of mine ought to follow suit) it will be the best thing ever. also, if i don't pass out from the needle on my hip bone. here is a hint: it has something to do with pirates. probably not in the way you are thinking.
"mon amour adieu" is my favorite song on this album. favorite of mon amie la rose: "je veux qu'il revienne". favorite off the first album: either "tous les garçons et les filles" OR "ton meilleur ami" (this, by the by, is on my top five records of all time, so basically all the songs are complete gems). i haven't listened to la question or soleil enough to form an opinion, and tant de belles choses basically bored me (and my grandmother, whom i am working steadily to convert to superfandom -- and it is working!!) though i was fond of the line "tu as tant de belles choses devant toi" from the title track. oh, miss hardy. anyone who is not half in love with her is missing out, in my opinion.
