BETE NOIRE: Team Science Plotting Post!

Jun 03, 2011 00:38

This is the official Team Science plotting post. There will be weekly comment threads posted in order to discuss who's hanging around the lab, who's conspicuously absent, who's working on what and who might be about to blow up the city ( Read more... )

PLOTTING THREAD: June 27 - July 3 fallsoutofbox June 27 2011, 22:20:41 UTC
This week's theme is Impatience.

Team Science is now down a member (sadfais for Scott), but potentially up three more! (Topher Brink, Toshiko Sato and Daniel Jackson.) Welcome to the new folks ^^ If the muns would like, we can handwave them being briefed on the Huon Project and the attempts to solve the barrier crisis.

Scott may end up coming back eventually. He quit mostly because he felt ~compelled~ to do it for some reason.

I'll laugh if Tosh tells him he should join.

Oh, I figured that was a possibility. Just making note of his "resignation" for the present.

Handwaving sounds good. Topher is getting a hands on demo of the technomagical whatsit anyways so he knows there's stuff going on barrier-wise anyways.

Unfortunately, the status of stuff with the barrier is on hold for now due to an unresolved log. Hopefully, that'll get done within the next couple of days.

The Huon Project is being put on a slight back-burner in order to focus on more pressing issues, but the scanner could potentially be built by the end of this week. I'll get talking to the mods about it.

Due to the city no longer doing anything to encourage illicit activities - and because of Jack's baiting him that there was "work to be done" - the Doctor won't be avoiding Jack anymore.

I also want to stress that all members are welcome and encouraged to bring in ideas/think up projects related to their own experience. Especially now that the arduous task of finding a way to leave the city will soon be in full swing. That's an opportunity for all kinds of tangentially-related experiments (that could potentially go off the rails and cause fun trouble for the city's inhabitants =3)!

I guess Nicki's just doing the usual. Workin' on sciencing when she can, etc.

I'm cool with handwaving - is there some background info somewhere to read up on it? :3

Hmm. That would be a good idea. A "here's what's been done so far" post. *makes note*

But since what's been done so far isn't a whole lot, I can just put it here for now.

The main goal of the team is to find a safe way out of the city for those being retained. So far it's been determined that the only source of energy powerful enough to sustain such a thing would be Huon (which you may recognize as the nearly-extinct energy source from the DW universe). The Huon Project involves building a scanner that could find pockets of Huon particles hidden around the city.

The barrier thing... well, you've seen just about everything that's been done involving that so far.

I missed the thing with Scott. Sorry to see him go.

DOCTOR, Jack will be pleased that you are willing to work with him again.

TOSH, Jack will be happy to actually see you.

DANIEL JACKSON, Jack still thinks you are exceedingly cute and will be very pleased that you've joined them.

Topher's gonna be all kinds of impressed when he meets Captain Harkness.
