It wasn't supposed to end in such a way, but she remembered walking through the streets, Connor's arms around her shoulder so she didn't fall over. Under the moon, the two could be heard laughing, though it was mainly Addy giggling the way she did when she was drunk.
But it was okay, Connor had her safely. He'd see to it she was safe. Said she could crash in Murphy's bed. It'd be a nice surprise waiting for him when he got back. Though Connor wouldn't tell her where he went, she figured it had something to do with this lucritive business the two of them recently got into.
"He's a real lucky fucker, Murph." He told her, slurring his words slightly as he led her into the elevator.
Her round blue eyes looked up at him, not expecting that to come out. "Yeah, how so?" She asked before hiccuping.
"He always gets the girls." He told her honestly, intent on not touching her. She was his brother's after all, and there was a sort of silent vow there. Something he wouldn't cross. He respected it. He respected her.
"I'm not your brother's. I'm not anyone's." She replied, stating the truth. After all, neither had made a move on one another, despite the fact Addy once put his hand up her shirt.
"But he's always over yers. And always all over yeh." He said a little skeptically.
"Well it's fuckin' news to me." She said lunging forward to walk out of the elevator. Her footing was a little wobbly though and Connor had to pull her back from falling.
"Eh, stop movin'! I'm tryin' to tell yeh something." He said, insistant as she landed against him.
She made a soft noise of disapproval. "Sh. I wanna go lay down." She said groggily as a hand went to pull on shirt. "Room's spinnin'."
"Adelayde." He used her full name, which made her snap her head up. "Will yeh hold on for one fuckin' moment?"
"What?"
But now that he had her, he sort of blanked. So she wasn't Murphy's? They'd been spending months together and the stupid idiot hadn't done anything? But then there was a lot of alcohol in his system, and not much came to mind after that, so he simply leaned into her to kiss her.
It was much like Murphy's touch, soft. "I didn't sleep with him." Addy told him quietly, as his fingers went to her hair. She looked down at her hands as he pushed the blanket aside.
Clothes were tossed away, a trail leading from the lift to Connor's bed. Her head was spinning. There were objections, but Lord knew it'd been ages since she'd been touched this way. Sure, she hadn't expected this MacManus brother to be the one doing it, but there he was with his hands all over her.
Murphy's hands slid over shoulders, letting the fabric drop to the floor. He spun her lightly to face him. "I already told yeh, it's okay." He said, quietly lifting her chin. She didn't want to look at him, a mix of emotions coming to the forefront.
She felt kind of shamed. She figured he'd be pissed or something. And maybe a part of him was, but it was certainly a surprise to come home with a half naked girl in bed with his brother. Sure, it wasn't the first, but that red hair, the shade of fire, was unmistakable.
"I can't do this, Murph. I wasn't supposed to do this in the first place." Her eyes were still downcast.
He wrapped an arm around her. "Yeh don't have to do anything. Just stay." He said quietly into that fire red hair.
Her arms went around his sides. "I swore I wouldn't become like this again." She said softly.
"Like what? Yer lonely is all. And it's not like yer sleepin' with the whole fuckin' town." He said, pulling her to his bed.
Her stomach lurched, but she followed him. He pulled her close to him. Maybe he wanted to kiss her, pull her under him, but he knew there was more there. And he might not have been the best with emotions, he knew not to push. Fucking Connor got her while she was drunk, he got the aftermath. Still, her tiny body against his was nice. She leaned her head on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry if I hurt you." She said quietly. "I do like you."
