Spartacus Fanart

Sooo I now have a new obsession....well two really: The Walking Dead and SPARTACUS! Both of which I've been watching since the beginning. Of course TWD caught my fancy since I do love a good zombie apocalypse, and who doesn't? But I was just flipping through my TMN and found Spartacus during it's first season and just fell in love with it. It is extremely violent and explicitly sexual (do I have your attention yet?) but the story line, or lines rather, are amazingly well told, interesting, and captivating. The characters are awsome, Lucy Lawless plays an amazing role as Lucretia and my God does she look good for her age! She literally does look like a Roman Goddess. Andy Whitfield, who played the original Spartacus, died sadly before filming of the third season. He had Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and got really sick during the second season so to give him a break during treatment they did the season as like a prequel, which I really loved because you got to see how Quintus and Lucretia became the terrible people they are. I also loved the sort of "coming of age" tale of Crixus, who I never really liked that much but gained a huge respect for the actor Manu Bennett after seeing the growth in the character. Before filming of the third season it was told Andy wasn't going to make it and they were going to pull the plug on the series, but like the amazing person he was he gave his blessing to recast the role, which is where the hot piece of scantily clad man flesh that is Liam Mcintyre comes in. I'll say this, Andy was great and he created the role, and I always say no one screams like him before a bloody kill lol, but I think Liam's doing a great job. Now I might be a bit biased because I wouldn't mind him tossing me around the sand pit.

"Ooh yeah. No I don't care what you smell like. Is that blood? Whose blood? Oh well that's fine then."

Aaaand so on. But I think there's a difference in trying to recreate a previous actor's interpretation of a character just to make it as seamless and non confusing for the audience as possible, and taking that character, seeing how it was portrayed initially, taking pieces from it but ultimately making it your own. And that's what I think Liam's done.

Now, now that that's out of the way, on to the gay smut! That's what you're really here for I know what you're like. Filthy prevert. That being said there is no smut. *collective disappointed sigh* No no don't worry, there is gayness. I usually have to do fanart for any particular fandom I'm currently obsessing over, and I've been aching for a while to do some Spartacus stuff but just really hadn't had any inspiration. Then last week's episode was absolutely killer! I'm not going into background detail cause that would take even longer so if you haven't seen the show (who the hell am I talking to?) you're not gunna get this. But anyway, Agron kissed Nasir!! AHHH! *girly squee* I was so excited, finally another gay couple since those are the only kinds I sympathize with lol.

"Kill Sura, Good. I don't give a shit."

And there's been some sexual tension between the two of them so you could kind of see it coming. Anyway here's my interpretation of the scene. I've also been forced to listen to that god damn Rhianna song about 12 times a day at work, so consequently I now like it and was trying to find some sort of construct I could use it for, because I just love that one line, so I thought it'd be fitting for here. Enjoy :)

And it's up here cause y!gallery is down (AGAIN) and I don't know if I'd get in trouble for putting this on deviantart.
