Hold up my head when my head wont hold on
So yeah, my extended LJ hiatus went all of what, a week?
Cause a ton happened, that's why. I went from being in a shittastic mood post-Otakon for many reasons to actually being upbeat and more optimistic than ever. Got to see some good people, hear some good news, and have made a conscious effort to lift my spirits.
Let's start at the beginning, shall we? Otakon wasn't a whole helluva lot of fun, save for Friday night dinner and photoshoot and Seifer being pretty badass and the Bill & Ted fiasco Saturday night(Meaning, we stood at the bottom of the stairs by the fountains and took a bunch of pictures with people, most of whom absolutely LOVED us! Surprise!) Other than that, it was less than spectacular, which is a somewhat sad end to a proud, fun eight-year tradition. Maybe I'll go back someday, but not soon as it wasn't worth the money or time mostly. Unless someone comes up with a really damn good reason and argument. We'll see.
Only two cons on the slate for 2011 are Katsucon and DragonCon. Katsucon's lineup is looking like Mal, Ulquiorra, goddamned Raoul from PhantomajkhjdhhscrewyouPatrickWilsondouchebag, Altair, and the Joker. Maybe more than that. D*C is still quite far away.
2011 is going to be a good year. Why? It WILL be the year I finish my bachelor's. Finally. I am halfway there, and with taking the accelerated adult courses two at a time, I can be done in the next 15 months, which is a HUGE deal for me :) About time. Something to put my mind towards. Because then I can get a real job and move to Pittsburgh or that general direction.
So I made maranda watch DS9 with me. Never again. We both take turns ruining the things each other love, and it was her turn I suppose :)
My new hero is that guy who threw the water bottle at Justin Bieber. Score. Next time make it a brick and help us all out.
