"I'm sorry you have cancer, I'm going to hug you now"

Best line from Chase on House EVER.

In other news.. I'm feeling a bit behind.. usually do though by this point in the semester.  Mid-terms always remind me how much I haven't learned in the last month and a half.

Mid-term on Monday morning for Animal Learning.. completely kicked my ass.  But I may have managed to pull some of it off.. we'll see how lenient he is with grading.  Our study sheet consisted of 20 essay questions taken from 10 articles.. the kinds of essay questions were like 'explain the rationale, procedure, results, etc' as i think i mentioned before... but this meant that we had to know 10 articles which were all scientific and all similar.. it was so hard to tell them apart.  One long essay was just:  Explain an experiment from the Grigson (1997) article, Conditioned Taste Aversion: an interpretation.  What the hell.. half the articles were by Grigson and they were all about conditioned taste aversions!!  I could not remember for the life of me what this one was.. but through some deduction on my part.. I took a guess based on all i remembered it couldn't have been.  And luckily, though my answer was vague, i did get the right experiment.  Woot.  It's impressive considering that i fell asleep at 2 am after only writing out 3 of the 20 questions.. and then woke up at 630 (when the test was at 1030).. i freaked out and answered the rest of the questions.. 17 essays.. gah... which took me until 10.. which means i only actually had 30 minutes.. a little less.. to actually look over them.  Serious cramming.

I feel more accomplished by my procrastination than by the actual work I do. Sigh.

Speaking of mid-terms.. I have one tomorrow afternoon that I have only briefly started studying for... it's health psychology which seems so commonsensical (which i didn't realize actually is a word) that i can't bring myself to study.  Gah.  I hate that class.  To make matters worse tonight was AI and House.. so I enjoyed those with cathy and nikki joined too for House.. and then to celebrate adam's birthday, jew mike and dm mike came over and they played beer pong and watched Robin Hood: Men in Tights.  goood movie.. but that means that I was too distracted to get much more than the basics down.  But at least it's a start.  I do have 12 hours before I have to take it and I'm not overly concerned.  Though i hope I can get my notes back.. my profile which includes all my documents won't load on my computer.. it's been having this issue for the past day or two.. and then tonight didn't help it.  If it stops working, i blame dm mike who, in trying to distract me from working, accidentally sprayed a bit of beer onto it.. more onto himself luckily.. and pulled me up from the couch causing the laptop to fall to the ground. (the latter is slightly my fault.. i could have perhaps resisted more)

Speaking of Adam's birthday. I still didn't get him anything... Any suggestions would be appreciated.. i was thinking booze of some kind though i dunno what he likes.. or maybe a funny t-shirt?  no idea.

soooo looking forward to spring break

P.S.  if anyone says nethers to me again today i'm going to smack them
P.P.S.  Radio show tomorrow 8-10.. listen or visit :)
P.P.P.S.  Thursday's common hour involves Jean-Paul playing the violin.. i highly recommend going.. a) violins rock  b) Jean-Paul is an awesome person (he's the guy from trinidad who wears a huge black coat with the biggest zipper i've ever seen... and he's so nice.. gave me a hug the first time i met him... and he's cute....)  bottom line.. Come with me!
