I encountered Kadaj again, during the blackout. He seems as insane as ever, but it's an easy way to get what I want, so I can't complain. The sooner I locate 'Mother', the sooner all of this mess will be sorted out.
Speaking of messes that need to be sorted out, the government are being slow at restoring power. I somehow doubt any rebel group was really behind it, it was probably more just incompetence. Still, Shin-Ra Inc. power supplies are still up, so it hasn't had a severe effect. It makes travelling a great deal more time-consuming, though.
I need to see Hojo about this 'black materia'. The chances that he knows something about it are slim, but it's the first place to look.
