Slytherins have more fun

It's true you know. I've been reading some really great, original Draco-based fan fictions lately, and I just find it so much more interesting to read about than the infamous Golden Trio. I mean, that's what J.K. Rowling is for, right? Shouldn't we be broadening our horizons and thinking outside the box if we're going to write spinoffs of Harry Potter? I'm not trying to put down any writers that do write that, why would I? My bestestestestest friend Katie writes it, and I think it's excellent. I just don't see why so many people get stuck into this mold of what they think fan fiction should be about. Haven't we all heard about the transfer student from America one too many times? Or reading Ginny Weasley's diary? (Which, by the way, makes no sense to me. Why the heck would that girl want to start writing in a diary again after what happened? Huh?! Honestly people..) How many times is Ginny going to go "I don't like Harry Potter. No, not at all"? How much more must I tolerate hearing that Hermione suddenly started wearing tight jeans and bikinis?!?!?!?! (That's where people cross the line, really)

What I'm trying to say is that I wish I could come across more fics like the ones I've been findind on The Fire & Ice Archive. aka: dracoandginny.com. And if you die-hard H/G fans would look past the shipping, I'd like to recommend the following fics to you on that site (and unfortunately I don't know how to make links for them so you'll have to go yourself) though I'm just going to give you their summaries, because I'm afraid I'd go and botch them if I tried to do that:

I Potato You by yunnage
This one is by one of my best friends since the fourth grade who has recently started writing fan fiction. I'd hate to give away what's in store in this one-shot, but I'll provide you with Yunnie's wise words: "Potatoes are better."

One Last Wish by dracosnaughtyprefect
I just discovered this one today, and it's only got two chapters but I'm in awe. Her summary: Draco's wife has passed away and made one last request: Having a surrogate witch have a baby for him. She wants him to have the whole experience of pregnancy that he could never have with her, so she asks for the witch to live with him during the 9 months. What will happen when Ginny Weasley is that witch? And what will happen when she finds out that the dreams that have been haunting her sleep have everything to do with Draco?

A Ferrety Response by archirat
I love this one! Another fic that's just started, but well worth reading. Humorous and totally original, archirat will keep you wondering what will happen next. "I'm in a pet store, a MUGGLE pet store, and they still find me.
Well, it figures with the way my life has been turning out recently. With my luck I'll end up being Harry fucking Potter's pet ferret. Bugger. --Draco Malfoy" Check this one out guys, you won't regret it.

Okay, so those are my recommended d/g fics because I just can't help but share them with you guys, they're so good! But now for some good 'ole rambling. Reading so many fics centered around Draco has really got my bunnies hopping around for Years Gone By. I know, I know, YOU SHOULD BE WORKING ON FOREVER AND ALWAYS! But when inspiration strikes, why not go with it? It's just so un-Gryffindor that I can't help it. I promise chapter 11 is well on it's way, though. One last scene left and we're ready. Sorry guys, you know how school is -.- I'm really putting off my schoolwork just writing this, but I need some venting time (since SOMEONE still hasn't replied to my email) and figured I'd update you guys one what's going on.

Random question: Does anyone speak/take French? Because I could use some extra help once in a while and I'd really appreciate it if someone was willing to help me out. I'll write a one shot for you!

Ugh. I don't want to go to school tomorrow. Cheer.... sucks.... but oh! My friends Kat and Julie are both going to try out for cheerleading next year, so it'll be so cool if we all made it! Well, I won't elaborate on that since none of you want to hear about that, so let's talk about more fan fiction, shall we?

Sometimes I really want to write death scenes, but then I think "nooo that would upset me AND the readers!" But drama is just so... dramatic. I don't know. This is pertaining more to Years Gone By than Forever and Always, seeing as YGB is a much darker fic, but still. Well, we'll see how it goes.

AHH as much as I want to keep rambling, I really do think I should go work on my geometry and biology projects. I think I should started updating this thing more often, lol.
