#1 - Butterflies
It’s funny that she’s nervous because he’s her best friend. They’ve had dinner together a dozen times, just not Dinner. But a meal is a meal is a date, and she only has a couple hours to dash home, shower, change, and figure out how to make her hands stop shaking, how to quiet the fluttering in her stomach, how to turn down the dopey grin just a notch or two all because of Jim Halpert, who makes dumb jokes and whose ears stick out and whose high school picture grins back at her from underneath the front desk counter.
#2 - Groceries
Date two (or three, depending on who you ask): grocery shopping, another thing that they’ve done before. But this time, Pam pays attention to what kind of tea he likes so that she can have some in the apartment just in case, and he gives her his coupon for yogurt because he never eats them though he always feels obligated to buy them. He helps carry her bags to her fourth floor apartment, and she can feel his eyes on her as she puts things away, noting where things go because he knows that he’ll be back soon and often.
