a fic.

Wow, LJ, it's been a while. Like a year and a half a while. Hi.

radialarch and I have been writing a collab the past couple weeks! We've been yelling at each other about Steve/Bucky a lot on chat for the past ... months ... so we eventually said fuck it and wrote up a courtroom media. Then it turned into media fic. WHAT CAN YOU DO.

I am politely not going to scream and descend into gibbering because you're now playing in my current One True Fandom, with my current OTP. Witness my self-restraint, for it is Herculean.

In other words, YAY OMG. And yes, I did just follow you on Tumblr despite being a total lurker there. HI.

I SAW. HI, YOU. <3 i'd have followed back, except, well. i admit, one of the drawbacks of leaving lj for tumblr is that i no longer got to talk to you.

i wish i'd known! steve/bucky's my primary otp at the moment, and i don't see that changing anytime soon. i've been sucked in by enjolras/grantaire for a while last year, after getting increasingly disillusioned with sherlock & sherlock fandom, but steve/bucky hit me in the face in ... february this year, i think? couple months before ca:tws came out. i swear, this ship has every single thing i love about any pairing, ever.

(i see you've been going through a leverage frenzy as well! :D :D)

I'm still here! I am much more of a lurker than previously (stress/depression/anxiety kills my creative urge apparently) but I still check my flist every day. I mostly hang out on Twitter though (@aka_vee). I'm trying to get back into the habit of journaling, because I miss it a lot. Tumblr is good for the pretty/shiny, but not so much for meta/conversation.

Steve/Bucky is ridiculous. I was neck-deep in Steve/Tony for a year or so until Winter Soldier happened, and now I can't think about anything that isn't codependent nonagenarian supersoldiers. ♥

... well, yes, except for my vacation in Leverage-land. I was watching it back in the day and then Nate fucking Ford and his boring manpain got to be too much, but I'm glad I finally went back and watched the rest. Eliot/Parker/Hardison OT3 foreverrrrrrrrr.

Well, I've followed you on twitter - bearing in mind that I literally use twitter to talk to maybe three people, tops. Yeah, unfortunately, Tumblr lacks the opportunities for interaction that LJ had; I've gotten used to the tag culture, but the fact that you have to use a cheat code just to preserve your outgoing messages kind of says it all. I'm assuming fandom will migrate to a different platform eventually, though!

IT'S A PROBLEM. Fandom isn't providing me with enough WWII-era fic for them, tbh, but it's very generous in pretty much everything else. ♥

Fun fact: this fic was kind of born because of the Leverage trial ep? Aldis Hodge looks really good in a suit, and it all ... snowballed from there. I'm still baffled by how blatant the OT3 is, tbqh. Even the actors seem to have gone 'oh yeah. That's a thing.' (They die hand-in-hand! Goshhhh. what do you mean it's not a real death. they'll definitely go like that in the end, shhhh)

I use Twitter to rant about my hilariously stressful job, and also to talk to friends in lieu of email or, you know, picking up the phone. Do not feel obliged to continue following me if my wordvomit is too much! I'm perfectly happy to natter away here. I will probably never actively use Tumblr though, so you don't need to follow me there. I will forever lurk in the land of gifsets and social justice rants ( ... )

i don't mind! <3 if i ever get to using mine on a more regular basis it'll be a mix between fandom and uni work, so.

to be fair, I'm trying to write a howling commandos-era fic, and it's kind of tough. I think a lot of authors are inching around the peggy/steve/bucky difficulty by just setting their fics post-thawing, but I love writing peggy and her potential interactions with bucky are fascinating. (OH THANK GOD AN UNDERSTANDING SOUL - i've gone from 'vaguely amused by punk/hipster aus' to 'actively avoiding the sight of them', and i'm only thankful that the trend seems to be tapering off. i honestly can't picture either of these characters as punks or hipsters, so the random fad was frankly baffling to me ( ... )

I could enjoy some good Peggy + Bucky interaction, definitely. Problem is I really can't see Steve without Bucky anymore, so any potential relationship would need to include them as a matched set (which is not my thing to read but I wholeheartedly endorse it as a thing, because Peggy. Also it would drive Howard up the wall to see that many pretty people having sexy times and not inviting him to join in ( ... )
