Yesterday...
Ahhh productivity at last. I've been bouncing around between my parents' house, the hospital, and DAYA events so much lately that I just have not had time to do the day to day house things. I spent the night at Lauren's the night before so that I could let the dog out in the morning before they got back from their trip to Birmingham. I left by 9 so when I got back to my house I had the whole day to catch up. I ended up cleaning my room, unpacking all my random bags, moving my desk upstairs and setting that up, going through a bunch of bank stuff, vacuuming the downstairs, and doing 3 loads of laundry. I pretty much worked from 10 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. I'm still impressed with myself actually, haha. Once I was sufficiently worn out, I watched tv til Sarah came over. Then we went to the grocery store to get food for dinner. We made pesto chicken pasta with mushrooms and had hummus and homemade pita chips. This whole learning to cook things is a weird process. For lunch yesterday I made a bacon and cheese omelet. So it was a pretty intense cooking day. Phew. After dinner, Sarah, Carmen and I watched the medical anomaly shows on TLC that they have on Sunday nights. This week was World's Smallest Mom, some giant lady from China, and The Woman With Half a Body or something like that. I just saw a commercial for next Sunday's shows and they are World's Heaviest Man, World's Heaviest Man 2, and something about really tall people again. Haha, the commercial is on again. That last one is called World's Tallest People. I thought it had a cheesier title like "Rising Above the Rest" or something.
So, thanks to recently downgraded Tropical Depression Fay, I've had a scratchy throat and trouble sleeping. And some weird congestion in my lungs. Grr. Last night it took me til like 2:30 to fall asleep, which is weird because I've been getting up at like 8:30 the past week.
Also, I've been missing Birmingham, which I never thought I would. I miss the the people, closeness of everything, and the little restaurants. Wah. I mean I know I'm going to visit next weekend, but I know I'm never going to live there again probably so its just a little sad.
