I count down the days

I usually write poetry..i amnot the best at it...but i wrote this a long time ago...

I hope I know this dance as you take my hand in yours
I hope I know this song so I can sing softly in your ear
Everything is going fine and now I count down the days
When you'll leave just like the rest

I know those eyes, I've seen them before
I wait until the day they turn gray and worn
I see the light now but I wait for the dark
I know it will come, that's the painful part

Those words, i've heard them spoken
Tender hearts carelessly broken
When will they stop when will they turn to hate
I count down the days

I wake next to you to kiss so soft
I start falling again for something falling apart
the end is approaching I know but I can't see
The day you go to her, when you've had enough of me

I still wait, when we hold hands for you to let go
When you reach out but I can't seem to feel
I wait for that day when you pull your hand away

I count down the days

That day is approaching I feel it in my heart
That day when you tear my whole world apart
You kiss me so gently on my hand once more
I fall for you more than i ever had before

Yet i wait for the day when you stop doing these things
The last kiss you'll ever give and your love to fade away
The first time is always the hardest people confess

It gives me warning, however, when you feel lost
When the those eyes turn gray when your kiss fades
and when you finally pull your hand away
