Somehow, Japan never really begrudged Turkey's unannounced, unwarranted visits. He put up his front of being annoyed (although in true Japanese fashion, that really only meant he was more awkward than normal) but really, when the Mediterranean nation would just smile and laugh it off, Japan couldn't help but smile back.

Turkey was big, boisterous, and loud - and was more understanding of Japan than any other, even Greece. They had both been through the pain of watching a family break away, of growing old as others changed and died and drifted.

And so, they would spent these nights together, drinking hard liquor as only old nations can, talking and strolling and just living. Turkey would get roaring drunk and make a few passes, and Japan would get pleasantly buzzed and blush and give weak attempts at shoving Turkey off of him, but not really trying because after all what was the fun in that?
