So a few weeks ago i ordered a ceramic piggy bank off of ebay because i want to start saving change. Actually, the real reason is because i want to break it open with a hammer to get the money when it's full. About a week after i paid for it, i get an email from the seller stating that she accidentally sent it to the wrong person, and that person was sending it back to her so she could mail it to me. I was like cool, whatever. A week later i get the piggy bank and it's left ear is broken off. This was the time liz and dave were in town so i set it aside and chose to deal with it later. Today i emailed the seller and asked for a refund, and this is the email i received back:
"You did not request insurance for shipment and the item was packaged properly. I apologize for your loss but I am not a business."
Nice.
So i promptly gave her negative feedback and stated the reasons why, and then sent her this email:
"1. If it was packaged properly it wouldn't have broken during shipment.
2. Maybe if you could figure out how to send it to the right address the first time it would have less time to break during shipment."
End of story... or so i thought. 30 minutes later i get this email:
"1 it was packaged properly.
2 it was not damaged when it was sent to you because I opened it and looked at it.
3 you should spend the extra $1.00 and get insurance in the future...if you can afford it.
4 i don't care what your feedback says, it's not like you are ruining my career. I'm a SSG in the United States Army and I could care less what YOU think about me :) Have a nice day"
Awesome.
(For those of you that don't know what the heck an SSG is, like myself, i googled it. It turns out it's an E-6, the army's version of a first class petty officer.)
